What I learned from the Samsung Digital Appliances Cooking Workshop + Recipes :)

Last week, I was fortunate to be invited to try out a cooking workshop conducted by Samsung Digital Appliances, held at Gala Stars Culinary in Shaw Blvd., with other blogger friends.
We definitely learned a lot from the famed culinary star and Samsung Digital Appliances Ambassador Chef Ernest Gala with the help of Samsung Refrigerator and Samsung Smart Oven. 
Our theme for the second cooking workshop was "Weekday Warrior: Prepare Restaurant-Quality Dishes Everyday".

I have learned new techniques on how to make delicious and healthy recipes, the easy way.
We had so much fun at this cooking workshop!
The workshop was very hands on.
My cooking partner Rochelle and I did everything-- from the cooking..the baking..to the washing.
Chef Ernest Gala is a great teacher and is very approachable.
They send us home the dishes we cooked from the workshop.
My kids personally loved the S'mores!
At this workshop, the cooking techniques were easy to understand and yet ,the dishes still turned out very exquisite.
Overall, this cooking workshop went very well and was exactly what I think a cooking workshop should be — fun, social, instructive, hands-on, and not overly complicated.
So now, dear readers, I'll be sharing to you the recipes of the dishes we learned from that day.

Recipe 1 : Pork Steaks with Mushroom Sauce
A. Ingredients:

250gms Butterfly Cut Porl chops(about 2 pcs.), pounded well both sides with meat mallet. Cut into 2 down center to get 4 pieces.
1/4tsp. each or rock salt , pepper, dried thyme
1/2cup canned cream of mushroom soup
1/2cup fresh full cream milk
1/2cup sliced button mushrooms
2Tbsps. butter

For Garnish : Parsley Sprig

B.Procedure

1.Season pork steaks with salt, pepper, thyme
2.Arrange on microwave safe dish
3.Mix the soup and milk in a small bowl with a fork or small wire whisk.
4.Pour soup over pork steaks. Carefully top with sliced mushrooms. Dot butter. Cover with cling.
5.Set Samsung Smart Oven on microwave. Microwave on high 10 minutes. leave cling until ready to serve.


Recipe 2: Parsleyed Baby Potatoes(Accompaniment to pork steaks)
A. Ingredients:

250gms (1/4kilo) baby potatoes - wash, do not peel ( about 1 cup ).
Pat dry with paper towel.
Carefully poke each potato with the tip of a sharp knife halfway thru.
Pinch of rock salt and pepper
1Tbsp. salted butter
B. Garnish:
1Tbsp.chopped parsley

C.Procedure:
1.Sprinkle salt and pepper on the potatoes. 
2.Dot with butter. 
3.Set Samsung Microwave on high.
4.Cook potatoes 3-4 minutes or until done. 
5.Top with parsley.


Recipe 3: Mini S'mores ( Dessert )
A. Ingredients:

8 pairs Graham Crackers
24 Chocolate Chips
8 White Marshmallow

B. Procedure : 

1.Put 4 pairs graham crackers on paper plate.
2.Top each with your desired amount of choco chips.
3.Top with Marshmallow.
4.Set Samsung Smart Oven on high 1 minute  30 seconds or until marshmallows just start to puff.
5.Remove from oven and top each with remaining graham crackers.
