New SM Cinema San Mateo opens on Friday, May 15, 2015
Earlier today, we witnessed the grand launching and blessing of the 51st branch of the SM Lifestyle Entertainment Incorporated's newest addition to SM cinemas-- The SM Cinema San Mateo.
For all movie lovers out there, they will officially open tomorrow, May 15,2015.
Mr. Hans Sy of SM Prime Holdings,Inc. is absolutely thrilled to bring a new and exciting entertainment option to San Mateo and the surrounding area in Rizal.
With such an exciting line-up of films this year, they are all looking forward to share them with the local residents the biggest blockbusters and exciting events.
There are 4 cinemas with total 1240 seating capacity at SM Cinema San Mateo, so I'm sure they can properly accommodate everyone.
The SM Cinema, being known as an interactive and advanced theater , has once again (and finally) introduced Winema, the first and only interactive cinema in the Philippines.
It stands for "We Interact With Cinema".
I remember joining Winema's first launching a few years ago. But it almost didn't push through.
So, how does Winema work?
A motion camera is installed inside the theater which allows movie-goers to play a game by waving their hands in the air to control the characters on the screen.
We were fortunate enough to try the game ourselves, with of course-- the SM bosses.
In order for us to get a prize, we needed to beat the highest score of 35.
But it's harder than it looks.
This one-of-a-kind feature will now be a permanent to SM Cinema San Mateo.
So bring the kids and the whole family because SM Cinema really offers a great experience for all their customers, making it as unique and memorable as possible.
And you all thought that Mr. Hans Sy is one tough big boss, who does nothing but bully those people around him.. well.. see for yourself. Sorry, but I just had to post these photos of him enjoying tossing the candies to the media after the launching.
He may look tough, but he's all cheery and sweet in the inside :)

You can earn a free movie voucher for every 5 different movie titles you watch at SM Cinema using your e-PLUS card. This Promo will end on March 31, 2016.
