Jollibee celebrated 117th Philippine Independence Anniversary in Kawit, Cavite

Where were you the 12th of June?

It was one of the extraordinary days for me.
That day was filled with Joy as we went on a trip at Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite and took part in one of a kind patriotic experience with Jollibee. I finally got the chance to see the place where the Philippine Flag was first hoisted and the Marcha Nacional Filipina was played before Filipinos in 1898.

I tell you, if you want to experience the real spirit of Independence Day, the perfect place to visit is Kawit, Cavite, -- where it all started 117 years ago.
The June 12th program started with the opening speech delivered by Camarines Sur Third District Representative Leni-Gerona Robredo , followed by the blowing off candles on a very special huge birthday cake prepared by Jollibee.
Jollibee used the commitment expressed by the Filipinos and Pinoys at heart on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook using the hashtag #HappyBdayPilipinas on top of the cake.
To commemorate the special occasion even more, Jollibee asked Pinoys "Anong gift mo sa Pilipinas?" with the launch of the Happy Birthday Pilipinas project.
The country's leading fast food chain appealed to the Filipino youth to voice out their commitment via social media and to spring into action thru simple acts that they can do for their country as their gift on it's birthday.
We didn't stay there for very long to see the grand exhibition of fireworks in the evening unfortunately.
Often times, we experience how sadness and joy intertwine whenever Independence day comes.
We honor the memory of those who sacrificed their life and we celebrate the happiness of our freedom at the same time. We give one day to people who sacrificed everything to attain this privilege to live freely.
No matter where and how you are going to celebrate Independence Day, make sure you spend it with love and with a bang. Enjoy the June 12th spirit, which is all about reminiscing past memories and creating new ones ahead..with Jollibee.
