Gulp and Vote The Fun Way with 7-Eleven's #7Election GULP® cups

7-Eleven has opened its doors once again for this year's 7-Election and anyone can vote, young and old, and they can do it repeatedly. The bottom line? Vote buying is accepted at all stores!
The colorful 7-Eleven GULP® cups are featuring the 5 Presidential candidates: independent candidate Grace Poe, People’s Reform Party leader Miriam Defensor Santiago, Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas, PDP-Laban presidentiable Rodrigo Duterte and United Nationalist Alliance bet Jejomar Binay.

The 7-Eleven's 7-Election is to encourage everyone to participate in voting.. the fun way.
They already did this back in 2010 elections to experience the freedom to vote. While we all need to be serious and in choosing the President we should vote for on May 11th, in 7-Election, you can have fun while informally participating in the presidential polls.

FYI 7-Eleven is the only store in the country where you can find Coke and Pepsi side by side playing nice.

The 7-Election voting poll reflects the sentiments of their customers, which is not yet a rep nor official. Unlike a survey which uses a survey methodology or statistical analysis.
Although unofficial, transparency is their utmost priority and that the results will be visible to anyone anytime.

Since I'm not a registered voter and no chance of experiencing the realism of voting this MAY ( because it is also my birthday), I gladly took the opportunity of becoming one of the voices of the GULP generation and engaging in the campaign during the media launching. And so I chose the most respected and well-loved person of the nation today. There are many reasons to embrace the candidacy of Mayor Duterte in my point of view , starting with the fact that he would be the most qualified president ( confidently confident with a heart ) in the Philippines History.
Anyway, choosing the next president of the Philippines is no easy task. It is a crucial decision we, the citizens of this country, have to make. But you can make it more fun and exciting by participating online and posting your chosen cups in all your social media accounts with the hashtag #7Election, since their designed cups are Instagram-worthy :)

So , how to be vote, the 7-Eleven way?

  • Head to any 7-Eleven store
  • Look for the colorful 7-Election cups
  • Choose among the five different presidential GULP® cups
  • After you’ve made your choice, fill up the cup with either GULP® softdrinks or GULP® juice.
  • Your unofficial vote is cast after the barcode found in every cup is scanned at the cashier. One (1) scanned barcode equals one (1) vote. After the barcode is scanned, your vote is counted in that week’s 7-Election poll. But before you leave the store, make sure to verify your vote through the receipt which will reflect your choice.

During the media launch, they've already revealed the results from March 23- March 29 and as expected, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is in the lead while the Undecided stays on the second place. Mayor Rodrigo Dutere has gotten the 80% of votes from the Mindanao area.
If you can remember back in 2010 before the presidential elections, Benigno Aquino III won by 38% of the votes with a 4.%  difference between 7-Election and Comelec. This has all started in 7-Eleven in the US in the year 2000 with Bush VS Gore which is done every after 4 years .

If you have time to visit the website, although the 7-Eleven stores have already overlapped and become saturated within NCR area, you can still easily check by provinces or cities, which you can further filter down to per store level. And upon clicking on a certain store, the result in percentages per store will appear. A gallery can be seen on the 7-Eleven website wherein you can see tweets and Instagram photos with the #7election hashtag as well. Official receipts will be given that confirms the voter's choice of GULP® cups and customers also can view results in stores that are being updated every Friday.

Funny lady, Tuesday Vargas, was there to enliven the event even more with her witty shenanigans. I just loved her to bits. Never a dull moment with her around.

The man with many faces, Jon Santos, with all his guts, impersonates a powerful politician and proves yet again that he can charm anyone.
At the event, they've announced Mayor Rodrigo Duterte as the unofficial winner for the pretend voting.

Philippine Seven Corporation’s Marketing Communications Head Emmanuel Lee Esguerra mentioned during the launching that they've anticipated a number of dates on the scenarios that can happen with the 7-Election campaign and that they are really careful and sensitive in this kind of promotion.
They've seen the passion of people for their candidates and the support is really present, which only means people nowadays want a probable development.
The undecided cup was an eye-opener for them since 14% of their customers are still undecided which can mostly reflect to the upcoming elections also. The candidates should work even more harder to get those votes.

Philippine Seven Corporation’s executives, together with representatives from official media partners Rappler and CNN Philippines hold out their 7-Election GULP Cups.
