Energen Promotes Healthier Philippines With #HealthyBreakfastMovement

Energen has recently put a goal set up to various Barangays all over Manila and the Philippines pledging to reduce the number of undernourished people this 2016 as 6 out of 10 household in the Philippines are still undernourished.
Energen wanted to do something about that.

When you have to rush for work in the mornings or get your kids ready for school, we often neglect eating breakfast.  If you think you can lose weight by skipping breakfast , think again!
Your body will only ask for more food and eating a lot also does not mean your getting all the healthy stuff.
Some may look healthy but are still undernourished.Their development mentally and physically is below and is not even average. We need to boost our nutritional intake. That's why Energen comes in. A good cup of oats drink can get your day off to a good start.

A national nutrition survey conducted by DOST-FNRI in 2013 reveals that wasting or thinness among 5-10 year old children remains unchanged since 2011 while stunting continues to be a problem among teenage kids. Obesity has a 30% prevalence rate while chronic energy deficiency continues to afflict 10% of adults.

These nutrition problems often result from poor eating habits, like skipping meals such as breakfast, or having an unbalanced diet, and can lead to poor performance in school or at work.

“Breakfast is the most important meal. Studies have shown that consuming a nutritious breakfast helps ensure that children and adults will have the energy that can sustain their productivity throughout the day. It also helps contribute to the development of mental and physical abilities, ” said Greg Anonas, Energen marketing manager.
The recently held Energen Healthy Breakfast Movement in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City was a huge success with FREE healthy feeding affair and a raffle for the community.
Energen will travel to Cebu City (Barangay Tinago Sports Complex) on May 21 and Davao City (Davao City Recreational Center Almendras Gym) on May 28.
