A host of Kapamilya stars have gathered once again for Araneta Center's celebration of early Christmas with their traditional giant tree lighting with joyous live entertainment, plus freebies and prizes for everyone who attended the festivity.
Imagine, it has been celebrated for more than 35 years now, more than 3 decades but never failed to give us a feeling of nostalgia and warmth, truly a season of joy and love.
The magical evening of music and merriment took place right at Araneta Center's food park Friday, with the gorgeous Binibining Pilipinas 2016 winners gracing the occasion, led by Miss Grand international 1st Runner-Up Nicole Cordoves.
Making the event more meaningful this year, the Araneta Center has invited street children under the He Cares Mission to experience the momentous tree lighting and get a chance to see their favorite stars up close. Founding member of He Cares Mission Brother Joe was moved by the plight of the orphaned and abandoned children he found in Philippines' poorest communities since 1996 then raises funds to sponsor abandoned and orphaned children in the Philippines. The purpose of the He Cares is to undertake or support programs dealing with the education, foster care of orphaned or destitute children. The kids engaged in an early Christmas dinner and received their early Christmas gifts.
But this Giant Christmas Tree will not be possible at all if it wasn't for the man behind it - Mang Eduardo.
Mang Eduardo had been preparing and arranging the giant Christmas Tree for almost 35 years. So, the special night was really about him.
A quick game was also conducted with Binibining Pilipinas Universe PLDT endorser Ms.Maxene Medina to give added excitement to the crowd and promoting their Christmas deals. Would you believe I won from their raffle draw and got a super nice PLDT Smartwatch? Early Christmas indeed!
The fabulous Friday night concert kicked off when the hottest Kapamilya celebrities like Alex Gonzaga, Loisa Andalio and inigo Pascual, along with the talented batch of "Going Bulilit" mainstays Mutya Orqula, Nliickzy Calma,'Marco Masa, lzzy Canlllo and Xyrlel Ma‘nabat took the stage. Also part of the sparkling lineup of stars are Mans Racai, as well as the famous teens of Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7 Vivoree Esciito and Marco Gallo.

The ceremonial tree lighting was led by “it’s Showtime" host Vice Ganda, joined by Vice Chairman Judy A. Roxas. and other executives of the Araneta Center.

Music filled the air with performances from the Four Wheel Drive band, and capped off by a grand fireworks display. Also the highlight of the night was the revelation of what Araneta Center has in store for shoppers and Center visitors this December.
Continuing with the valued tradition of sharing blessings, Araneta Center is giving away a brand new isuzu mu-X to a lucky patron, while ten lucky patrons can win an overnight stay at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center.
The "Feel the Ride" Christmas promo runs from November 4 until January 15, 2017, and shoppers will be eligible to join for a single receipt purchase worth P1000.
As a way to express deepest gratitude to its online supporters, the Center’s “60 Gifts for 60 Days“ promo is also ongoing on Facebook, Twitter, and lnstagram. The promo runs even day until December 23.
