Hair Color Virgin No More, Thanks to Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis

The mid 30s , though packed with emotional crisis and challenges, is said to be one of life’s best years but change in any form should be done tok. Staining the mane was definitely one of the highlights and I'm happy I took the plunge.
My mom never allowed me to dye to my hair, but honestly at first, I didn’t really want to. It looked like so much work, with the maintenance and all, I was a slothful female, yes.
But I knew there’s so much more to it than that.
It's somewhat confusing when your mom interdict your plans, but now that I'm a parent myself, I can totally understand where she's coming from. It does not mean I agree with her though.

Sometimes moms aren't ready to let their child to grow up fast. And letting the kids decide for themselves be like a major torture. But then again, maybe moms are trying to save us from making mistakes including hair dying because of the harsh chemicals and stuff.
Since my work involves socializing a lot, the feeling of discontent and envy would occur whenever I go to events just because of my uncolored, dull hair. The situation I had made me feel a little left out, so when an opportunity appears before you, you grab it with both hands!

Of my many trips to salons, I would say this was definitely one for the books.
I've found myself seated before an eager senior stylist Luichie of Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis in Salcedo Village Makati for the Holidays With The Press 2016 event asking me what to do with my hair.
The stylist's assistant already fluffing my hair as I sipped my iced tea, eyeing where they could add highlights and telling me my hair would look great if I let them tint my hair. Of course, I did some research beforehand about hair colors and what suits my Asian-looking features.
A bit apprehensive as I peeked several times to the neighboring chair while I point out to them what I wanted for my crown. Decided to have sort of an auburn hair, but with a mixture of purple. A purple Auburn to annihilate some unwelcome white roots. A Balayage highlighting only the lower portion.

My stylist Luichie was meticulous as he was preparing my hair.  Gloves and all, with me on a robe similar to Harry Potter.
Lined up on the counter were Wella products Blondor Multi Blonde and Koleston Perfect with Macademia in tow. Though he often struggled because of my "virgin hair", it didn’t seem to pose a problem. Very professional and the experience from start to end (5 hours) was a pleasure.

When you see yourself being applied with unusual stuff and put beneath those foils in front of a mirror, you couldn't really help but wonder if adding colors to your natural black hair was a good idea after all.
My mind was in a constant praying mode that I would not walk out looking like a clown. But when I see what the other girls at the neighboring chairs do with their hair that turned out pretty awesome anyway, it somewhat made me a braver soul who couldn't wait for the big transformation as well.
When I was stranded in that chair for hours, I realized , although anxious, that there's truly something alluring about dyeing one's hair. I maybe comfortable with my lengthy black hair color back then, I may become adventurous after this undertaking.
Panicky me! Sorry for the WTF face :)

Bleach Babe ;p

TADAH!!!

Now I know Hair color trends are as important as fashion trends, that is why everybody, not only celebrities are enjoying changing of hair color constantly.  What do you think of my hair color? Did they do well? Is the color alright? I need to know ladies! Please comment below.

You don't dye your hair just to exist. It is an expression of your mood and style. Would I go for a round two hair coloring? Of course I would now! Maybe someday I would go for grey or blonde, but right now I'm fine with this hair color.
Remember when opportunities knock, you need to grab hold of that happiness however it comes.
2 weeks later, after I've washed it using the Wella products they gave me as a gift for my color-treated hair, the shade fades and a bit tamer. The end strands though are dry with split ends, maybe because of the chemicals in bleach products. But I did not have any allergic reaction whatsoever, which is good.

Thanks Hair Philosophie by Jing Monis team for the experience! I will be back.
