SM City East Ortigas Opens In Time For Christmas

Got invited to witness the grand opening of the newest destination in the east, SM City East Ortigas, which is already the 60th SM supermall in the country. While hundreds of shoppers patiently waited on its first day of trading, traffic queued for kilometers on main road and surrounding the mall.

With majority of Pasig and Cainta residents belonging to the youth and the working class, SM City East Ortigas will cater to the lifestyle-driven young professionals of Pasig City and the family-oriented growing town of Cainta. The mall will offer a closer metropolitan convenience to the East market.

SM City East Ortigas is eager and ready to welcome its fold a diverse tenant mix anchored by the SM Store, SM Supermarket, SM appliance Center, Ace hardware and Watsons.
To make it more exciting, new concepts and first-to-market shops and dining options will be available to complement trusted brands ensuring that the mall goers will always have something to look forward to each visit.

SM City East Ortigas is set to expand the grounds of the Ortigas shopping district. The mall's features a paved jogging path, a loop that goes around the mall filled with trees serving as natural shade in the day.

The mall’s design features a large skylight which spills natural light down two levels from it. Stores, too, have bright interiors in keeping with a cheery feel rather than the usual stuffy mall back then.

The mall facade fronting Ortigas extension is also a stunning, obvious change from the mall of yesteryear, representing the changing seasons.

Also, they will have state-of-the-art cinemas, comprised of four digital cinemas and four Director's club theaters in which I am really excited about. I think the whole idea is to give the local residents something that they don't currently have - a pedestrian-friendly,grand shopping venue.

Since most stores here are the well-known and top brands, I'm looking forward to it being an enjoyable experience for residents and visitors alike while enhancing a strong economic and revenue.
