Why You Should Watch PETA’s ‘CARE DIVAS’ #ConversePHxCareDivas

I just adore going to theaters. Only last week, the Manila’s pioneer theater group, Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), raised the curtains to present the re-run of the hit musical comedy –drama ‘Care Divas’ to kick-start its 50th season program.
I must say, it was an absolute triumph. When the show debuted in 2011, no one would have predicted the success it's achieved since.
I'm already a fan of this musical play -the narration, the songs, the dance, all the hard work, the applause. The hours of watching it, already was taken away from the world and placed inside of a different being .
And behind all the candid fun, ‘Care Divas’  was indeed brimming with valuable lessons.
This stage production looks at what life might be like living overseas. The reality, the struggle. The time when your mother tried to make you touch the stars but you failed immensely and ended up on the moon. The plot reached out for my soul and almost cried buckets.

‘Care Divas’ , a musical drama about 5 transgender Overseas Filipino Workers in Israel who work as care givers in the morning and transform into glamorous drag queen performers at night. They battle to make ends meet and search for freedom and acceptance in the ‘Promised Land’.
The struggle is real being an OFW, you either get evaded with the locals and be completely lost at a crossroads. Sooner of later, things won't pan out for some, even after getting into to some huge company, they will give up eventually. But for the others, a bed of roses.

In my opinion, theater plays such as this one should be a regular thing in our place. Not only because of the stories and life lessons that remained relevant to this day, but because of the real people, with talent that cannot be denied doing what they love right in front of you. These great people work and rehearsed for months to do a show perfectly.

We have to give credit to the skilled powerhouse cast of seasoned PETA actors including:
