My Thyroid is stressed!

Two weeks ago, I thought I was battling tonsillitis. Swallowing was impossible, moving my neck hurt like crazy, and every touch on my neck sent sharp pain through me. On top of that, I had a fever and constant headaches.

Isthmus: tiny cyst measuring 0.17 cm

Left lobe: 3.98 x 1.03 x 1.48 cm with a hypoechoic nodule in the mid-pole measuring 0.55 x 0.39 cm

If you’re curious, here’s what that means:

Hypoechoic nodule: reflects fewer sound waves, indicating some thick substance inside.

Anechoic nodule: produces no echoes and usually contains clear fluid.

Tomorrow, my endocrinologist might recommend a fine-needle aspiration biopsy. Surgery might be required, but I’m hoping it won’t come to that.
