A Visit to The Nest Modern Table and Bar in BGC

12:25 AM
One of my guilty pleasures is constantly searching for hidden gems that can deliver a truly lasting food memory.

I believe that after a long, tiring day at work, eating becomes a quick fix and an essential part of a good de-stressing routine. Whether it’s healthy or not, it can really help relax the mind, I can definitely vouch for that (well, it worked for me).

Two weeks ago, I received an email for a food and restaurant exploration, and in an instant, I ventured out to see what this newest restaurant had to offer.

Bonifacio Global City truly has so much to offer in terms of nightlife and art, but it also boasts a fantastic selection of food and drinks.

The city is already buzzing with a wide variety of new bars and restaurants, and one of them is the newly opened The Nest Modern Table and Bar, located atop the premier W Fifth Avenue Building between 5th and 32nd Street.

Fortunately, I arrived early because I know that finding a good parking space can be a nightmare, especially after working hours.

The entrance of the restaurant is guarded by black grills, like stepping into a secret veranda, giving it a super exclusive feel and the vibe of a fine dining restaurant with a modern twist. This upscale rooftop dining hideaway is the newest addition to the city, offering a banquet for the senses with its euphoric blend of Asian flavors and Western-style cuisine, a revitalizing al fresco vibe, and an arresting view of the city skyline.

In cold weather like this, guests can toast to the city while enjoying the view under the stars from within the fully enclosed glass-walled space.

The Nest Modern Table and Bar brings a garden element into its interior design. It features stylish patio furniture in earthy tones, along with elegant table décor that gives the space a refreshing yet sophisticated feel.

I got started by ordering their house-blend iced tea to set up my appetite for an epicurean feast like no other.

I was provided at first with their signature cocktail menu but my insides cannot handle just yet the highly potent alcoholic cocktails and the full booted kick of the drinks.

The guests had the opportunity to sample the restaurant’s best-selling cocktails, created by beverage specialist Lee Watson.

These cocktails were creatively crafted, and if you’re into this kind of drink, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

One of the highlights was the Green Mojito (₱414), which traditionally includes mint leaves, lime juice, soda water, and ice. I’m just not entirely sure about the specific type of alcohol used in this version.

This one is called Sexy and I Know It (₱331), I think it’s more of a ladies’ choice.

This particular concoction is called Smokin' (414 ) and you'll know why.
Mixed with Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch, coconut syrup, honey and lime topped with flaming anise.

This is called the Spider's Web (331)
Dewar's White Scotch is fused with Cachaca Brazilian rum, passion fruit syrup, lemon plus ice.

The tropical-looking drink is called the Blue Moon (331)
Maker's Mark Bourbon is combined with black currant, lemon, and Angostura garnished with a blue petals and ice

While waiting for the introduction of food, we indulged and got swept away by the melody and harmony of the songs of this pretty acoustic singer-songwriter ( Forgive me, I wasn't able to get your name ).

"Prep with care , cook with love and serve with pride".

These are the words that Chef Benjo Tuason lives by in the kitchen.
He is known to produce uncommon flavor combinations that are delectable and pleasing to even the most discerning of palates.

Moving on to the food, the menu is quite short, with only two starters and two mains to choose from, but it is still quite satisfying.

For starters, we had naan bread with salt and butter. The bread was served warm, so it had a soft, freshly baked texture.

The Chunky Butternut Squash and Chicken Soup (₱150), on the other hand, is a thick, chunky, warm, and wholesome bowl of goodness that will keep you coming back for more.

Health buffs will definitely love this, as it provides your body with extra beta-carotene, vitamin C, and fiber.

I loved the Foie Gras and Mushrooms! (₱550)

The perfectly poached egg is topped with crunchy croutons, Parmesan, mushrooms, and foie gras, while the balsamic adds an extra depth of flavor to the dish, turning it into a true masterpiece.

And for the mains, we had the Pan-Seared Snapper (₱470), beautifully served with prawn and salmon roe risotto.

This one is undoubtedly my favorite.

Chef’s 5-Spiced Roast Pork Belly, shockingly priced at ₱250!

They served Kurobuta pork belly, regarded as some of the best-quality pork in the world, sourced from Japan.

It was paired perfectly with flavorful soy and garlic noodles that truly delighted my taste buds, along with a refreshing sesame cucumber relish on the side.

And for dessert…

This, my friend, is the Chef’s Reese’s Sans Rival (₱200).

With every bite of this cake, I couldn’t help but think of my dad and my childhood. The rich, creamy combination of peanut butter cream and chocolate ganache gives it a uniquely indulgent flavor that stands out in a very special way.

My kids will definitely love these sugar-coated donuts (₱200), served with peanut butter cream, salted caramel, and strawberry jam dips on the side.

The Nest Modern Table and Bar indeed gave us a great food memory—one that I would highly recommend to others, along with its top-notch service, very reasonable prices, and stylish restaurant-bar ambiance.

The Nest Modern Table and Bar is something new to try and a great addition to the BGC restaurant scene.

Happy Hour runs from 5 PM to 9 PM, where all signature cocktails are available on a Buy 1 Take 1 promo, and three beers on tap come with one more on the house.

Off the Record Wednesdays feature live acoustic music.
Paradiso Fridays bring chill house music and live DJs.
Saturdays groove to a night of R&B music.

More themed nights will be launched in the coming days.

As I browsing on the blog, I really like the ambiance of the place and the bar furniture as well. The food is so tempting that I wanted to call my friends to set our date as soon as possible. Yay!
