Figaro Coffee Launches Yuletide Products for 2014

The holidays always bring a certain kind of craving, the kind that calls for something sweet, nostalgic, and just a little indulgent. I was invited to try out a Figaro Coffee event recently, where I found myself revisiting flavors I had once overlooked and discovering a lineup of festive cakes and drinks that felt made for slow afternoons and long conversations. What surprised me most was how much a second taste can change everything.

Red Velvet Christmas Cake

I first tried this the last time I visited a mall in Cainta. Honestly, the taste didn’t appeal to me back then. But after trying it again at a Figaro event last week, it felt completely different, in a good way.

The chef explained that it uses the same formulation as last year, featuring a clean finish, and is designed to resemble a Christmas wreath you’d hang on a door.

Hummingbird Cake

This cake isn’t particularly popular here in the Philippines; it’s more commonly known in the southern United States.

It’s called a “Hummingbird Cake” because, as they say, once you’ve tasted it, it makes you hum with delight.

The base features a blend of banana, coconut, and pineapple flavors, giving it a unique and delightful profile that sets it apart from other cakes.

Cranberry White Dream Bars

You can compare the taste to butterscotch, but with a twist from the tartness of cranberry. The stencil design on top is made using pure cocoa powder.

The white layer is entirely cream cheese frosting. I was expecting it to be overly sweet, but surprisingly, it wasn’t sweet at all.

A slice costs 70 pesos here.

Seasoned Prune Cake

Unlike the usual Christmas fruitcake, this prune cake loaf is exceptionally moist and rich. Figaro aims to introduce cakes like this more widely by next year.

What sets their prune cake apart is that no liquor is added, making it suitable for kids as well. The focus is mainly on prune juice, which is a great choice due to its antioxidant benefits.

Figaro Yema Cake

The market for yema cakes in the Philippines is booming, so Figaro has introduced its own version just in time for the holiday season.

For just over 100, you can get one now for your loved ones.

I opted for the Praline Latte, which delivered a unique, spiced sweetness, a pure treat in every sip.

One Stampede Card stamp is given for every single-receipt purchase of food and beverages worth ₱400.
For succeeding purchases, customers must present their Stampede Card to receive stamps. Stamps are issued with the official receipt at the point of sale only.
A total of eight (8) stamps is required to qualify for a FREE foldable umbrella.
A single-receipt purchase worth ₱3,200 automatically entitles the customer to a FREE umbrella.
Any excess amount beyond ₱3,200 earns a Stampede Card along with corresponding stamps, depending on the total purchase.
The Stampede Card is store-specific. Customers must complete all 8 stamps and redeem the umbrella at the same branch where the card was issued.
