WingStop Has Landed at Glorietta 2

Chicken is the most popular main dish I serve for lunch and dinner in our household. Seriously, we are chicken addicts!

I actually prefer the wings, thighs, and legs myself but mostly the wings. The same goes for my kids. The breast meat can get quite dry and is much easier to overcook compared to dark meat. It’s the same with pork, I guess, unless it has a decent amount of fat.

As a child, I used to dislike fatty meat, but as an adult cooking for myself and my family, I’ve learned to appreciate the flavor more. I used to despise chicken breasts, so luckily for me, it also means I get to enjoy thighs, drumsticks, and wings, often at a better price.

So what do I do when I can’t or won’t prepare a full home-cooked meal? I head to the nearest decent restaurant with the kids.

Good thing, the wing expert has landed in the Philippines! Since 1994, it has been serving the ultimate buffalo-style chicken wings, yey!

I was fortunate enough to experience Wingstop’s nine crave-worthy flavors during the opening of their ninth branch at Glorietta 2.

The night was filled with music, celebration, and a whole lot of flavor!

Wingstop is a delicious twist on the traditional buffalo chicken wing, although I have absolutely nothing against the classic. With nine flavors in their current roster and one more coming soon, each Texas-sized wing has its own unique way of being remembered (and yes, I’m drooling).

Let me introduce you to these crave-worthy flavored wings that are always fresh and fried to perfection. FYI, their wings are cooked-to-order and never kept under heated lamps.

Louisiana Rub has deep South Cajun and garlic spices that give it a slightly citrusy yet spicy kick on the taste buds. Simply addictive.

Lemon Pepper is unique in flavor as it has a citrusy profile, but not overly so. There’s also a hint of sweetness and stickiness that makes you crave for more.

Mild Buffalo, well, there’s really nothing “mild” about it. It still carries that classic buffalo spirit, just without the sweaty brow.

Then there’s Atomic, a combination of sauce, sweat, and tears. Seriously, for those who love a seriously hot chicken wing, this is the one to choose. So much spice, with just a hint of sweetness, makes up the Atomic. It’s basically a punch in the mouth.

Hickory Smoked BBQ is smoky-sweet, big, and bold. It’s totally meaty and nicely cooked.

These wings are browned to perfection with a brilliant sauce that has a distinct oriental flair. Now, I can say I really have Chinese blood because this mild-flavored wing reminded me of childhood and felt very soothing on my taste buds. It was flavorful but not searing, you’ll get the idea.

Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to try their Cajun, Hot Buffalo, and Garlic Parmesan flavors because we only needed five stamps for our Wingstop Flavor Passport. But I’m definitely planning to revisit their Eastwood branch with my family.

Here are the prices for the chicken wings:
5 pcs + 1 flavor – ₱235
7 pcs + 2 flavors – ₱325
11 pcs + 2 flavors – ₱495
20 pcs + 3 flavors – ₱875

Wingstop is everything I love about flavored wings, crispy, salty, sweet, spicy, and delightfully messy. They require plenty of napkins, which automatically makes them even more fun!

For the sides, we tried the Garlic Parmesan (₱100), and it was the bomb!

It had a perfect salty-sweet flavor going on, and you don’t even need a dipping sauce for these babies. They’re good to go!

They also serve yummy Chicken Tenders:

3 pcs + 1 dip – ₱185
7 pcs + 2 dips – ₱395
11 pcs + 3 dips – ₱595

You can also choose your dip, and add an extra dip for only ₱30. Options include Atomic, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Bleu Cheese, Ranch, and Teriyaki.

They also have combo meals starting at ₱185. They serve iced coffees as well, perfect for the summer heat.

I’m already drooling!

This place has a fun and relaxed atmosphere, I assure you. Great service too!

You should visit them this weekend with the whole family and grab Wingstop’s flavorful wings at their recently opened stores in Greenhills Promenade, Estancia at Capitol Commons, Eastwood, University Mall, Trinoma, Fairview Terraces, Starmall Prima Taguig, and Starmall Las Piñas.
