Heroine Make Launches Kiss Me Jewelry Eye Color + Makeup Techniques!

I have a huge confession to make. I spend an unhealthy amount of time watching makeup tutorials on YouTube when I’m not exploring the world of Korean dramas. Not really my usual style, huh?

I don’t usually buy makeup because I have super sensitive skin. I’ve tried drugstore makeup before, but I recently found out that some of them are often formulated with a lot of chemicals, so I’ve decided to stick to Korean and Japanese brands from now on.

When I recently got an invite to a makeup workshop, I was a bit hesitant at first. Why? It was scheduled on a Sunday. I don’t usually accept event invites on Sundays because that’s our family bonding day. But when the brand was revealed, I got excited! In the end, I just brought my family along so we could still bond after the event.

Have you heard of Heroine Make? I usually come across this makeup brand from beauty bloggers.

Heroine Make is one of the fastest-rising, best-loved cosmetic brands in Asia. It is manufactured by one of Japan’s largest cosmetics companies, Isehan, which has been in the industry since 1825, and is distributed by Mandom Philippines Corp.

They’ve been in the cosmetics industry for a long time, but Heroine Make itself was only launched in 2005.

The objective of the intimate event was to showcase their latest product, the Jewelry Eye Color, to a select crowd at SM Makati and at the Mandom Philippines office.

The highlight of the event was the makeup tutorial and demo conducted by Japanese makeup artist and beauty consultant Sayuri Igarashi.

Miss Igarashi has more than 25 years of experience in Japan, Europe, and across Asia, where she currently serves as the makeup artist for KISS ME Heroine Make.

The brand’s icon, Princess Elisabeth Himeko, serves as a reminder that women around the world should know how to enhance and beautify themselves.

She said that Pinays are known to have beautiful, healthy skin, which is in fact the best canvas for makeup.

This is actually her second time visiting the Philippines. The last time was at Makati Shangri-La for another Heroine Make product launch.

Even though her English was a bit hard to understand due to her Japanese accent, I really enjoyed listening to her. She was funny, warm, and sweet.

She also shared that KISS ME Heroine Make products are perfect for Asian skin and weather, where the demand for “all-weather” makeup that can withstand heat, humidity, rain, and sweat continues to grow.

The Kiss Me Jewelry Eye Color is the newest release from Heroine Make, and we are so lucky that it was launched first here in the Philippines before Japan.

According to her, this eye makeup is long-lasting.

So what makes this eye makeup special?

It comes with a special eye primer (white), which is a creamy base not the usual powder type. It is designed to last all day until midnight, and even into the next day, making it perfect for Filipinos with combination skin both oily and dry.

During the demo, she also emphasized the importance of applying BB cream before makeup. The BB cream on her right arm (02) has a higher SPF 50. If you have dry skin and need extra moisture without becoming too oily, the other BB cream (01), shown on her left hand, is the better option.

According to her, Rowena of Animteric's World has oily skin so she used the 02 BB cream on her face.
The latest trend is still the no makeup look.
But Filipinos already have huge eyes so we need to apply a bit of color in some part to enhance them even more.
She applied the BB Cream first on the center of her face then spread it all throughout.

If you feel you need the matte finish, apply loose powder or she recommends to us the Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder with mineral for a better coverage.

I had already used this powder during a previous event. It was held in a park, without air conditioning, and under the scorching heat of the sun.

So it was truly tried and tested, the hard way.

This is my “annoying look.” Please forgive the selfie, but I needed to check my face and document it after six hours without any retouching.

Ta-da!

I loved it. It contains sebum-absorbing powder that definitely took care of all the shine on my face the whole day, while still giving a natural glow without looking thick or cakey.

Back to the eye makeup…

First, apply the primer before your eye makeup. You don’t need a lot. For those with oily skin, there’s actually no need to apply the primer.

Next, apply the beige shade all over the eyelid.

Then apply the brown color, starting from the outer corner of the eyelids and going halfway in. If you have big eyes, focus on the corners. If you have smaller eyes, you can extend it a bit more across the lids.

So, which eyeshadow color suits you?

The brown shade suits any skin tone. The pink one is ideal for those with paler skin or dark circles, helping create a more youthful look. The gold shade is perfect for parties and nighttime events. The rose shade has more impact and is great for Valentine’s Day :) The black shade can be used as a substitute for eyeliner if you’re too busy to perfect a wingtip.

Remember: to create the illusion of longer eyes, apply the black shade on the outer base corner of the eyelid.

Applying liquid eyeliner is never easy, it’s honestly quite a difficult task.

You almost have to be an expert in Chinese calligraphy, using a “Mo Pit,” just to perfect it on your own. Seriously.

When you’re using the eyeliner, make sure to shake it first before applying, it helps achieve a more even, darker color.

It’s also quite hard to remove, I tell you. Totally waterproof! It even lasted two days on my eyelids.

You’ll need to use a proper makeup remover, preferably with a cotton bud.

To achieve a natural look, apply it in between the lashes first, then draw a clean horizontal line after.

The mascara is applied next, and she chose the one with a lengthening effect for Rowena.

The best thing about this mascara is that it’s also long-lasting, with no smudging even after several hours.

Use the inner curve of the mascara wand to achieve a long-lash look. There’s no need to use an eyelash curler because it instantly lifts and curls the lashes with the help of its concave shape.

The next great thing about this mascara is that it contains chamomile extracts, which help moisturize the lashes.

Both our hair and eyelashes have cuticles, and we need to take really good care of them.

For the eyebrows, if you want a slimmer-looking face, draw slightly longer brows.

Apply a darker shade at the peak of the eyebrow to achieve perfectly defined brows.

They also have Heroine Make eyeshadow pencils.

Contouring and shading are important in makeup to better define facial features and create the appearance of a smaller face.

Why do you think many of us prefer a smaller-looking face? Share your thoughts with me by commenting below.

I got this cute Elisabeth Himeko notebook from the event, which my daughter immediately grabbed from me the moment I walked in the house.

I’m so happy I had a chance to be dolled up and prettified by the talented Sayuri Igarashi. Honestly, it was a bit nerve-wracking but fun!

After spending about two hours watching her makeup tutorial, I learned so many makeup secrets that will make a huge difference the next time I need to get dolled up again—by myself!

I’m truly grateful that she shared some of the best-kept secrets of makeup artists. Check out the newest Kiss Me Heroine Make Jewelry Eye Color, exclusively available at Watsons stores nationwide.
