Watch the Newest Japanese Drama Amachan on TV5 and Win Exciting Prizes | TV Show Promo
For the longest time, I found myself somewhat addicted to Asian TV series. The world practically stops whenever my favorite show is running on my laptop.
It becomes difficult for me to accomplish anything when I am completely engrossed in these programs, especially those with fun and intriguing romantic storylines. I was never a hardcore fan, but I always get drawn to them. I love anything romance and comedy, even if it is not the main focus of the show.
Recently, I was invited and fortunate enough to get an exclusive sneak peek of the newest Japanese comedy drama series, Amachan, which will be aired on the Kapatid Network this coming October. I am not usually into drama, but after watching the trailer, my curiosity was instantly piqued.
So what is Amachan all about?
The series tells the story of a young girl named Aki, who has high hopes and big dreams. It takes viewers on a heartwarming journey as she pursues these dreams together with her family and friends, bringing plenty of laughter and touching moments along the way.
Unlike many other dramas, this series also offers a unique perspective on Japanese culture, showcasing traditional practices alongside the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the 2011 tsunami disaster.
Here is a fun trivia: the word “Ama” refers to the sea women of Japan, who dive for seafood such as sea urchins. As for “chan,” I am not entirely sure. LOL. These women are traditionally known for free diving and gathering seafood for their livelihood.
Amachan not only won the hearts of Japanese viewers, but its production in the Tohoku region, which was heavily affected by the devastating tsunami in 2011, also contributed to efforts in helping the region recover and rebuild.
Part of the Amachan experience includes the Hallo Hallo Cafe segment, which reviews and reacts to what is happening in the series while integrating fun games and exciting prizes. It is an interactive post show segment hosted by seasoned comedian Yachang, along with Angel and Kawaii5.
So for Amachan viewers, you will not only enjoy the episodes and storyline of Amachan itself, but also get to experience the Hallo Hallo Cafe segment. It brings a Pinoy flavor while introducing Filipino audiences to unique Japanese culture, allowing viewers to take part in the excitement surrounding the show.
Here is the exciting part.
Viewers can win awesome prizes just by registering for free at HalloHallo.com, with the chance to earn up to 10 million points simply by watching the show. Every day, 1,000 items will be given away, which is truly a lot of prizes. Be on the lookout for the daily keyword, which corresponds to points that can eventually be redeemed for rewards.
Even more exciting, if you complete 150 keywords out of the 156 full episodes of Amachan Hallo Hallo Cafe, the points can be equivalent to 10 million points.
We also witnessed the traditional Kagami-biraki ceremony performed by TV5 representatives and the JIB TV team after the contract signing. In this ceremony, the lid of a sake barrel is broken open with a wooden mallet and the sake is shared with everyone present. It is a symbol of harmony and goodwill. Kagami-biraki represents an opening to harmony and good fortune.
Amachan is truly full of good energy, good fortune, entertainment, and fun.
So, watch out for the premiere of Amachan this October on TV5, airing a 30 minute episode from Monday to Friday at 11 AM, with fresh episodes in the morning and replays at night.
You better catch Amachan, only on TV5.

Amachan! :)
