Greenhills Young Artists Festival: Celebrating Love and Art

As a parent who’s always encouraged my daughter’s passion for art and design, I understand how powerful it is to create, express, and connect through artistic experiences.

This February, I’m excited to share an inspiring event with you — the GH Young Artists Festival at GH Mall. Running from February 12 to February 25, this festival is a vibrant celebration of youthful creativity, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity to dive into the world of art and design.

An Exciting New Festival Experience

For those looking for a fresh and creative date idea this month of love, the GH Young Artists Festival offers more than just an exhibit — it’s an experience. Held in collaboration with Agos Studio, the festival is a platform for emerging young Filipino artists from all over the country. The East Wing Atrium at GH Mall is transformed into a dynamic art space, showcasing stunning works that span various mediums, from paintings and sculptures to interactive art installations.

With the theme “Art For[ward]: Art that transcends borders,” the festival highlights voices that push artistic boundaries and challenge conventional spaces. It’s a celebration of how art transcends borders, uniting both the creators and the viewers. My daughter, who’s always been fascinated by how art breaks barriers, would love this approach.

A Playground for Artistic Expression

One of the things I love most about this event is the opportunity for visitors to interact with art. You can’t help but be drawn into the creative energy that fills the space — and it’s not just about observing. Interactive installations invite everyone, regardless of age, to become a part of the artwork.

For example, my daughter would definitely be excited about Orland Espinosa’s interactive clay art, where visitors can mold and shape the clay to bring his work to life. I can already imagine the joy she’d feel, blending her own creative energy with his!

The Community Canvas installation allows everyone to leave their mark by painting and drawing, while the #ArtByYou Community Wall invites festival-goers to express their thoughts and feelings about art. This makes the entire experience feel like a collaboration, with each visitor contributing to the art in their own special way.

For those of us who want to get hands-on, the festival offers enriching workshops led by talented local artists. Whether you’re an art novice or a seasoned creator, there’s a workshop to match your interest. I can already picture a fun date idea for my daughter and me — the “Sip and Paint” workshop on February 14. It’s a perfect way to enjoy Valentine’s Day by unleashing creativity together while sipping a drink!

There’s also something for everyone: from oil pastel techniques with Villarica Manuel to storytelling through illustration with Kulas, and even jewelry design workshops with Aurora Flora. The variety of options makes it easy for visitors to dive deep into their creative pursuits or try something new.

Supporting Local Artists

What makes the GH Young Artists Festival even more special is its dedication to supporting local artists. This is something that resonates with me, as I believe in the importance of nurturing young talent.
