TP Pioneers Women's Empowerment in Leadership at ANZCHAM Forum

As the Philippines celebrates International Women’s Month, TP, a global leader in digital business services, is taking bold steps to amplify the call for greater participation of women in leadership roles and expanded opportunities across the country.

At the recent ANZCHAM International Women’s Day Forum, TP reinforced its commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women, providing a platform for impactful conversations on women’s rights, equality, and empowerment.

Hosted by the Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ANZCHAM), the forum gathered influential women leaders, advocates, and allies from government, private sectors, and non-profits to discuss this year’s theme: “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” The event aimed to inspire action and foster dialogue to uplift women and girls in every sector of society, driving collective change for a more inclusive future.

TP’s Impact in Empowering Women Across Sectors

TP was proud to participate in a panel discussion on "Empowering Women Across all Sectors," where the company shared its innovative approach to creating an ecosystem that empowers women, as well as individuals with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions within the IT-BPM industry.

Among the speakers was TP Women Chair and Executive Vice President of TP in the Philippines, Toni Tompar, who offered valuable insights alongside co-panelist Donna Grande, Senior Vice President of QBE GSSC. The discussion, moderated by Bela Gupta D’Souza, director of ANZCHAM and founder/CEO of Edamama, explored the importance of fostering inclusive leadership and creating opportunities for women to thrive.

In her speech, Tompar emphasized the significant progress TP has made toward women’s empowerment. “TP has paved the way for women through the years. We’re proud of our milestone achievement of having 57% of women in leadership roles, and we will continue to empower women with technology and other tools as we grow. Let us draw inspiration from one another’s experiences and strength as we advance in our shared mission,” said Tompar.

TP Women: Fostering a Culture of Empowerment

Since its inception in 2019, TP Women has served as a vital employee resource group within TP in the Philippines, dedicated to empowering women and driving positive change in the workplace and beyond. The initiative focuses on addressing the challenges women face and actively creating spaces that amplify their voices and aspirations.

Tompar further shared how TP Women continues to evolve its empowerment programs by driving three strategic pillars:

  1. Increasing Women Leadership, Engagement, and Participation – fostering more women leaders and ensuring active participation at all levels.
  2. Bringing Meaningful Opportunities for Women, Especially Those in Marginalized Groups – expanding access to opportunities that elevate women in underrepresented communities.
  3. Innovating to Empower Women – working alongside communities where TP operates to bring new solutions and innovation that drive empowerment for women.

Through these initiatives, TP Women not only advocates for gender equality within TP but also extends its impact into communities where the company operates, building stronger support networks for women at the local level.

Commitment to Global Standards and Sustainable Development Goals

TP’s commitment to empowering women goes hand in hand with its partnership with the United Nations Global Compact and its alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Women’s Empowerment Principles. Through partnerships with government agencies, advocate organizations, and community groups, TP continues to champion women’s rights both inside and outside the workplace.

As the digital landscape evolves, so too does TP’s approach to inclusion and diversity. The company is enhancing its programs by integrating Emotional Intelligence (EI) with upskilling efforts in Artificial Intelligence (AI), creating a more holistic environment for its workforce.

Jeffrey Johnson, Chief People Officer of TP in the Philippines, explained, “The evolution of our inclusion and diversity programs like TP Women integrates our high-tech, high-touch, and high standards approach. As AI solutions augment the capabilities of our people, we are enhancing their EI skills like empathy, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.”

Recognition for Gender-Inclusive Workplace

In 2024, TP was proud to be recognized by the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles (UNWEPs) as the 1st Runner-Up for the Gender-Inclusive Workplace Award. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to implement comprehensive policies, programs, and initiatives that create a level playing field for women and promote their voices, growth, and leadership opportunities in the workplace.

Empowering Women for a Stronger Future

TP’s participation in the ANZCHAM International Women’s Day Forum underscores its unwavering commitment to empowering women at every level of leadership and business. With continued innovation, advocacy, and collaboration, TP is setting the stage for a more inclusive future where women’s rights, equality, and empowerment are not just goals but lived realities. As we look to the future, TP remains dedicated to ensuring that women’s voices continue to be heard and celebrated in every sector.

By joining forces with organizations like ANZCHAM and global initiatives like the UN Global Compact, TP is helping to create an ecosystem where women can thrive and take their rightful place in shaping the world’s digital future.
