QBE Volunteers Support Brigada Eskwela 2025 in Cebu and Manila

QBE employees recently joined the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2025, demonstrating strong community support by helping prepare public school facilities ahead of the upcoming school year.

More than 500 employee volunteers participated in activities at three schools across Cebu and Metro Manila.

In Cebu, QBE maintained its partnership with Bagong Lipunan Elementary School and Zapatera Elementary School. These schools have received ongoing support from QBE through a variety of programs over the years. This year also marked a new chapter in the company’s outreach efforts, as volunteers extended support to Soldiers Hills Elementary School in Muntinlupa City, making it QBE’s first Brigada Eskwela initiative in Metro Manila.

The volunteer efforts were coordinated by Team Verde, QBE Philippines’ employee-led sustainability group, in collaboration with the QBE Foundation. Across both cities, employees rolled up their sleeves to clean classrooms, paint school furniture, wrap books, and care for school gardens.

QBE’s senior leaders also took part in the activities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to meaningful employee engagement and hands-on community involvement.

In Cebu alone, 295 employees contributed their time and skills to help enhance school environments. The QBE Foundation has long supported its partner schools with more than just one-time efforts. Initiatives have included improving classroom infrastructure, donating school supplies, and running nutrition programs that promote student health and wellness.

In Metro Manila, 220 volunteers participated in QBE’s first Brigada Eskwela project at Soldiers Hills Elementary School. The program was delivered in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), a long-time collaborator in QBE Foundation’s community programs.
