TECNO and Lonely Planet Launch Shot On CAMON 2026 in the Philippines

TECNO has officially launched the highly anticipated Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 in partnership with global travel brand Lonely Planet, inviting Filipino mobile photographers to capture authentic moments through the lens of the TECNO CAMON 50 Series.

Now on its third year, the global photography competition carries the theme “Seeing is Believing”, encouraging creators to document real stories, raw emotions, and unforgettable scenes from everyday life. The contest runs from May 15 to October 11, 2026, and is open to TECNO CAMON users worldwide.

The collaboration between TECNO and Lonely Planet brings together technology and storytelling in a way that goes beyond photography. From expert judging panels to travel-inspired visual narratives, the contest aims to celebrate the people, cultures, and places behind every image.

Melissa Killian, Vice President of Integrated Marketing at Lonely Planet, shared that meaningful travel photography is rooted in immersion and connection. She emphasized how TECNO’s camera technology helps users stay present in the moment while capturing authentic memories as they happen.

Kelvinmarkulit Named CAMON Photography Ambassador in the Philippines

To strengthen the local campaign, TECNO Philippines has named Kelvinmarkulit as its official CAMON Photography Ambassador.

Known for documenting candid slices of Filipino life, Kelvinmarkulit will help inspire aspiring photographers across the country through campaign collaborations, judging responsibilities, and participation in the winners’ journey. His involvement reflects TECNO’s push to spotlight genuine Filipino stories on a global stage.

From capturing ordinary street moments to gaining international recognition, Kelvin’s photography journey proves that powerful images are born from emotion, observation, and authenticity.

Five Photography Categories for Shot On CAMON 2026

Participants can join any of the five official contest categories designed to highlight different forms of visual storytelling:

Faces Unfiltered

A celebration of real and honest portraits that showcase individuality, natural beauty, and genuine human emotion.

Night Unveiled

Focused on the beauty of nighttime photography, from glowing city lights to quiet moonlit moments.

Culture Unscripted

Highlights authentic cultural moments including festivals, traditions, food, and everyday interactions.

Snapshot Unspotted

A telephoto-focused category capturing distant details and unnoticed moments that tell compelling stories.

AI Unimagined

Participants must first take a real-world photo using a TECNO smartphone before transforming it using TECNO AI Gallery tools. Both the original and AI-enhanced versions must be submitted.

TECNO General Manager Jack Guo said the contest is a reminder that the most meaningful images begin with real-life moments and genuine observation.

Prizes Include Cash Rewards and Travel Opportunities

Shot On CAMON Contest 2026 offers major prizes for standout creators worldwide.

The grand winner will receive the TECNO Photography Master Award worth $8,000. Additional winners will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes ranging from $1,000 to $3,000, while selected participants will also receive a TECNO CAMON 50 Series smartphone.

As part of the partnership with Lonely Planet, the TECNO Photography Master and Gold Prize winners will also enjoy an exclusive curated trip to the Philippines.

Filipino Special Award for Local Creators

TECNO Philippines is also introducing the Filipino Special Award, created exclusively for Philippine participants.

Aside from photo submissions, Filipinos can also submit short-form video entries through Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and TikTok. While video entries are not eligible for the global competition, they will qualify for the local special award category.

Six Filipino winners will be selected as CAMON Photography Endorsers in the Philippines. Winners will receive a Lonely Planet bespoke travel experience along with a TECNO CAMON 50 Series smartphone.

Five winners will come from photo entries, while one winner will be selected from video submissions.

Participants must upload photos with a visible TECNO device watermark on Instagram using the hashtags #ShotOnCAMON2026, #TECNOCAMON50Series, and #TECNOPhilippines.

High-resolution copies should also be submitted through the official TECNO Philippines website or emailed to shotoncamon@tecnomobile.com.

Winning entries will be featured in TECNO’s annual photography book, global exhibitions, and official digital platforms.
