How To make Bread Roll

3:09 PM
My 3 kids just love bread. All kinds of bread!

They can eat the whole loaf bread all by themselves! It's an unfortunate and unhealthy trait I have passed along to them. My mom was really the culprit (I love her).
She would give my kids unlimited toasted breads and hot "pandesal"  when they were little. But now, it seems my 3 kids may be getting a bit bored of eating the same old plain bread so I decided to spice it up a little. I'm now exploring my creativity side as a mom. I was never like this.A big Hurrah for my new transformation!
Anyway, I'm sharing this old simple recipe of BREAD ROLL, because I have discovered that some moms in my kids' school didn't really know how to make one.
This is also a great way to bond with your kids.

Here's what you need :
LOAF BREAD : I love the classic Gardenia loaf bread because it's packed with vitamins and iron.
BEATEN EGGS
TOOTHPICKS- to hold the bread in place.

A BIG MUG! : If you don't have a rolling pin, this will do. Make sure though you'll clean it first.

CHEESE!

BREAD CRUMBS!
BOILED HOTDOGS : You can also use boiled ham.

The cooking procedure :

  •  If you don't have any rolling pin in the kitchen, use a big mug instead to flatten each slices of bread. You can also use the palm of your hand. make sure it's even though.

  • In a big platter or a clean chopping board, lay the flattened bread. Arrange the sliced boiled hotdogs and strips of cheese at one side.

  • Roll the bread carefully and apply some pressure for a few seconds to hold and maintain the roll in shape.

  • You can also stick toothpicks through the bread , to hold the bread in place.

  • Deep the bread roll in the beaten egg,

  • and into the breadcrumbs.Ensure that the bread is uniformly coated with egg and bread crumbs. Repeat process on the remaining slices of bread, keep aside.

  • Heat generous amount of oil in a big frying pan until it start to smoke, set the stove to moderate to low heat. Carefully place each roll with the seam at the bottom in the frying pan, fry for 1 to 1/2 minutes or until just browned and constantly flipping to maintain uniform cooking.

  • After frying, Blot out excess oil by draining the bread rolls on kitchen paper towels.
VOILA!

YUMMY BREAD ROLLS!
You can also cut them into bite size pieces for your little ones!
Happy Meryenda!
