EON | Co-Creating the Future

9:40 PM
2 men 1 story, a story that began in 1999.
The year that started online shops and digital stores for convenience. Ebay for example. People would buy stuff on Ebay but in order to pay them, you'd have to mail banks first. Postal or money ordering was the thing back then.
It was easier nowadays as we can pay via online. But banks in the Philippines were blocking Visa cards of customers access to online because of safety issues.
So Union Bank introduced EON that was first called EON Cyber Account which customers can use for online purchases.
No minimum balance.
That's how it all started. It was supposedly an ordinary account but the demand was high and everybody was talking about it.

For Union Bank, it really was all about control. And Co-creation was introduced. They came up with a board of creators, the same EON users who have been discovering ways to make use of EON more than what Union Bank has intended. These people were looking for an enjoyable digital experience. By this time, social media has always been the benchmark of enjoyment, so Union Bank has dropped in technology that would deliver that enjoyable digital experience. Hence, EON Mobile App.
EON and technology go hand in hand to provide an experience that simply feels at home—even enjoyable—to the Digital MEs.
Enough with the same nonsense from traditional banks. Let's get into what technology can really do to make banking delightful and efficient.

How does EON work :
  • You have to get your EON starter Kit for only P150 that is available in all 7Eleven stores, also in Lazada. No need to go to a bank branch. No forms. No time wasted.
  • Your all-new EON card comes with an EMV smartchip to keep your money extra safe. What's more, you get PhP 50 in your EON Account to start off!
  • You can easily activate Your EON ccount Through the App. No fuss. Get it on Google Play or Download on the APP store, then you'll be using EON to manage your money like a whiz.
  • Your EON Account is an electronic money product duly authorized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). It does not earn interest nor is it covered by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC).
  • You may have more than one EON Account. In which case, the total balances or cash ins of all your EON Accounts should not exceed the same limit as your EON Account with the highest level.
  • When linking your EON to your PayPal account, select Union Bank of the Philippines as your bank, enter 010419995 as the bank code and your EON Account number. PayPal may charge a minimal fee but don't worry, UnionBank won't charge you anything on top of that.
  • You don't need to take a trip to the bank to add funds to your EON Account. Head to a nearby convenience store and you're as good as done, like buying a snack. There's a minimal fee of PhP 10 for every PhP 500 you cash in —still cheaper than making a trip to the bank

You also get 24/7 customer support on the channel you prefer the most. So, no matter where life takes you, EON is right there at your fingertips.
