Vilmark Viray's latest single LISAN is finally out! Now at #7 on the iTunes PH chart.

GMA Music artist, Vilmark Viray, one of the finalists during the fourth season of The Clash, recently releases his second self-composed single, overflowing with emotions under GMA Music titled "Lisan," to deal with the sudden loss of his father.

And because Vilmark was so used of having his father around, the sudden loss left him so many questions unanswered. As grief is a natural human response to the loss of a loved one and can show itself in many ways, he used his songwriting as his main coping mechanism in dealing with all those. 

"This song is really special to me. I remember how I wrote this song during the first night when my dad passed away. I really dont know what to feel during that time, sobrang sakit na di ko alam kung ano ang gagawin, saan magsisimula at paano magpapatuloy. All my emotions tungkol sa pagkawala ni Papa ay binuhos ko sa kantang ito."

When my own dad passed away in March 2001, I realized that you don’t move past it—you go through it, and you continue to go through it, like you’re in a dark forest holding just a candle. Sometimes there's the sun shining through, but most of the time, cold and dark.

While mourning takes on different forms for everyone—Vilmark wanted to share his composition to everyone which brought him comfort.

"After ilang days, kinausap ko yung producer namin si @pauaguds na may gusto akong irelease na bagong song. Sabi ko sakanya na this song is really special to me dahil I dedicate this song for my dad. Pinakiusapan ko siya na if magrerelease man ako ng new single, gusto ko na ito yung ilabas namin. Thankful ako dahil naging buo yung suporta niya para marelease yung song. Alam ko kung papano niya iningatan at pinahalagahan yung song na ito. He also helped me para mas mabigyan ng kulay yung music ng kantang ito. Kaya maraming salamat Kuya! "

He continued,"Maraming iyak yung nangyari sa pagbuo ng song na ito. During recordings and shoot, hindi lang isang balde ng tubig yung nailabas ko. Kaya sa lahat ng makikinig, I want you to feel this song not just a hugot song but also a song of hope. Na may reason kung bakit nangyayari ang lahat. Wag lang natin madaliin, makakapagsimula din tayong lahat ulit." 

The song "Lisan" may help you move past the loss of a loved one, but it can also help you move through a breakup.

With this new song, Vilmark cherishes the memories he has of his father and hopes he is proudly watching from above.

"To my father, I hope I made you proud. Ngayong malayo ka na samin, I hope you’re happy and proud sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. Sana magustuhan mo itong song na ginawa ko for you. I’ll never get tired to thank you. This song is not enough, pero sana naging proud ka sakin. Sobrang miss na kita. Wala ng tumatawag na idol sakin. Pero ganun pa man, I will continue what we have started and will do my best to make you proud. I LOVE YOU, PAPA. PARA SAYO ITO."
