BDO Drives Electric Mobility Forward, Reinforcing Commitment to Green Transport

In an era where sustainability is becoming increasingly important, BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) is stepping up to support businesses that are committed to eco-friendly practices.

As part of this initiative, BDO is playing a crucial role in advancing green logistics by financing the acquisition of Mober’s 60 electric vehicle (EV) trucks, empowering the company to expand its operations and solidify its leadership in sustainable transportation.

BDO's financial backing allows Mober to take a giant leap forward in building a more sustainable logistics industry. Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober, shared, "BDO’s support for our fleet expansion enables us to take a significant step toward building a more sustainable logistics industry."

Charles M. Rodriguez, Executive Vice President and Head of Institutional Banking Group at BDO, emphasized the bank’s dedication to supporting green mobility: “We are committed to helping businesses transition to greener practices, particularly in the logistics sector. By financing initiatives like Mober's electric vehicle fleet, we’re contributing to a cleaner, more resilient economy that benefits both businesses and the environment.”

A Major Step Toward Sustainable Logistics

The financing from BDO is more than just a financial transaction; it’s a testament to the bank's commitment to environmental sustainability. By supporting Mober’s acquisition of electric trucks, BDO is helping the logistics company drastically reduce its carbon footprint. Electric trucks emit zero tailpipe emissions, offering a cleaner alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles and contributing to the global effort to mitigate climate change.

This collaboration is a significant milestone for both BDO and Mober as they work together to create a greener future. Mober’s electric vehicle fleet will play a pivotal role in reducing pollution and promoting sustainable business practices, which aligns with BDO’s broader goal of supporting green technologies and fostering long-term sustainable development.

Mober’s Cutting-Edge EV Charging Hub: A Game Changer

A key component of Mober’s green logistics strategy is the launch of its state-of-the-art "Central Charge" EV charging hub, located in Pasay City. This facility, the largest commercial EV charging hub in the country, will ensure that Mober’s growing fleet of electric trucks is always ready to meet the demand for eco-friendly logistics operations.

Spanning 3,000 square meters with 56 charging ports, Central Charge is designed to accommodate both e-vans and e-trucks. Thanks to its three-shift system, the hub can charge up to 200 EV trucks daily, ensuring that Mober's operations continue to run smoothly 24/7. This facility will be strategically located near Metro Manila’s major commercial areas, significantly improving delivery efficiency for high-profile clients, including Ikea, SM Appliances, NestlĂ© Philippines, and Maersk.

BDO’s Commitment to Driving Sustainable Change

BDO’s involvement with Mober is part of the bank’s larger effort to promote sustainable practices across industries. Through its financing programs, BDO is actively supporting renewable energy solutions, green technologies, and other eco-friendly initiatives. The bank’s commitment to driving meaningful change in the Philippines' business landscape is aimed at inspiring other financial institutions and corporations to prioritize sustainability in their operations.

During the launch of Mober's Central Charge hub, BDO’s Institutional Banking Group reinforced the bank’s dedication to green transport. Key BDO executives, including Charles M. Rodriguez, joined Mober’s leadership in celebrating the milestone. At the event, BDO powered up one of the electric trucks it helped fund, symbolizing the bank’s active role in supporting eco-friendly mobility and logistics.

Paving the Way for a Greener Future

With the growing adoption of electric vehicles and infrastructure like Mober’s Central Charge hub, the future of green logistics in the Philippines looks promising. BDO’s continued support for Mober’s fleet expansion is a critical step in making the Philippines a leader in sustainable logistics. By providing the financial resources necessary for businesses to embrace electric mobility, BDO is helping to shape a cleaner, more efficient future for the country’s logistics sector.

This partnership also underscores BDO’s role as an enabler of green business practices in the Philippines. Through initiatives like this, BDO not only contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions but also sets an example for other financial institutions to follow in supporting the transition to a more sustainable economy.

By financing innovative solutions and supporting the growth of eco-conscious companies like Mober, BDO is proving that sustainability and business success can go hand in hand, creating lasting value for the environment and the economy alike.
