Getting to Know #JulieAnneSanJose and Her 3rd Album "Chasing The Light"

I got a chance to meet Asia's Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose at her recent BlogCon held at GMA7. I'm not really part of the entertainment bloggers but I've sort of seen her star rise in the recent years and her supporters have always been proud of her. She is said to be the fastest selling young artist, along with her previous albums that received highly positive reviews from critics and stayed at the top spot.

After signing an exclusive recording contract with GMA Records, she's been branded as the unstoppable one ever since, plus now a certified Diamond Record awardee.
When an opportunity presented itself to her, she would always jump at the chance. Now, Julie Anne's 3rd album under GMA Records "Chasing The Light" is on its way to stratosphere, and her growth as as artists continues as she becomes more involved in the song writing process.

"Whatever is supposed to happen, will happen.", her motto in life to make everything get into place.
This contemporary pop singer is truly confident in her career choice, and will always be proud as an advocate for OPM.
"I love to sing for supporters internationally and locally but I know that my heart is always for the Filipino fans, just like my carrier single - Chasing The Light, sort of ballad/RNB/pop but with still a touch of Filipino vibe."

It's not just Julie Anne who is having her moment; the entire OPM POP-based entertainment industry has seen a boom in popularity thanks to performers like San Jose.

"With all the emotional chaos that is happening in everyone's lives and I think people want something to lean on," the 22-year-old shared.
"Every person has a hunger for HUGOT moments in a song even if they don't realize it but it's all there. And my songs are always the perfect choice."
Even the release of the said album, her carrier single and one of her compositions " Narinig Mo Ba", had topped the iTunes charts upon its digital release last June. As I've mentioned, her songs are about faith, hope of feeling in love again, just like this song. She had plans on naming the album Metamorphosis but opted otherwise.
There will be also an album tour and concert internationally (Canada, plus 4 more) and locally (Cebu, Dagupan) for Chasing The Light album this October so watch out for it.
Chasing The Light album is closely similar to her recently released EP, Forever (released under VIM Entertainment and distributed by GMA Records).
What I heard is that the album is more mature and different.
Chasing The Light Album consists of several original songs and a revival, with 2 of them carrying her self-written lyrics. Julie Anne has also collaborated with international hiphop recording artist C-Tru which she has yet to meet. C-Tru recorded only his voice and sent it all the way from US.

The songs "Don't make me wait", "Never alone", "Take me to nirvana", and "All about you" were created by a team of 5 writers which are all Filipinos based in the US.

Chasing the light was made by the same composer Agat Obar-Morallos who did "I'll be there" and "Right where you belong".
"Just stay" was written by a family friend who is a court Judge and got chosen right after being submitted to the producer.

"Not a game" and "Naririnig mo ba" were the songs written by Julie Anne herself last year.
So, what's next for Julie Anne San Jose?
She's thinking of getting a master's degree next year and probably teach.

You can now get Julie Anne San Jose's Chasing The Light album under GMA Records in selected Astroplus and Astro Vision outlets nationwide, with its digital format available for download on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and other digital stores nationwide.
