The truth is, food is just absolutely better after 6pm. Why is that? Especially when you're in Makati city, the location truly has a surplus of places that serve long into the night, but still quality is not compromised and has only improved over the years. If you're looking for places to hold special occasions or just hanging out for a late-night food session with friends, go to Makati.
When I got an invite to be part of AMPR's Digital Appreciation Night at Cuore Bistro and Social Lounge, honestly, I was hesitant to go for it was the first time I heard of the place. But I'm glad I did go.
Cuore is actually a Bistro and a Social Lounge in one and is located at the Valdelcon building in Bel-Air and serves happy-HEARTy comfort food bursting with love. It is only within walking distance from the EDSA Buendia MRT station.
HEARTy indeed, as CUORE is the Italian word for “HEART”.
Heart is the center of everything at Cuore they said. It’s the love of life, love of career, love for meaningful relationships and memorable moments that are the driving forces behind Cuore, its founders and its staff.
The place welcomes and encourages conversations, food appreciation, social gatherings and social events.
The bar serves a curated list of alcoholic beverages. Beers, wine, cocktails, ciders and premium liquors- there’s something for everyone, for any kind of day and for any type of moment in your life.
This is a perfect place where like-minded people, professionals, freelancers, young and not-so-young, can come together and have a good time while enjoying good quality food and drinks.
The ambiance is a mix of elegant and industrial, with cool color tones of mainly blue and gray to give that cozy vibe. The furniture is mostly wood to give a warm body to the space. It is the perfect space for any kind of bonding time and social events
As we waited for others to arrive since we got there a bit early, me and my crazy buddy Martin goofed around a bit with the mobile app Snapchat and the mirror in front of us.
I only met him last year I think but we got along just fine as Trust has already been established. And I don't believe the Internet makes for a pretty lousy matchmaker between friends. Just look at us!
The AMPR Digital Appreciation Night I attended was already the 3rd edition ( for lifestyle, travel, entertainment, fashion and beauty edition).
They've conducted a fun quiz night and a raffle.
Sadly, I was not responsible enough and just let my battery drain to zero that day and the result was - no quality photos of the event. I need now to invest in a good quality camera, for phone camera is never reliable.
Anyway, the bistro serves International cuisines and put in our own personal touches to give it a twist and memorable-factor. Beautifully plated and curated with refreshing flavors, the dishes are definitely made to make one feel oh-so good.
We were served with these yummy toasted bite-size bread topped with (Beef Tapa, Beef Salpicao and Spinach). I super love the spinach dip! I wanted to ask for more but the waiter told us not eat so much as they will be serving their best-sellers.
Maybe there is something about coming up with fun and witty names for the dishes. For some, the name of the dish is much more interesting than the dish itself. And most of the time, the name of the dish makes you want to try it out as well. This bistro bestowed each dish with "hugot" names that will surely leave you delighted but confused at the same time as to whether eat them or not.
Like this first dish --When Our Eyes Met (Calamari). I'm not sure about the story behind the name of the dish but this was indeed delectable.
The One That Got Away (Nacho Fries) - My mental state was in a roller coaster mode that day. I probably devoured the entire plate in minutes and I loathed sharing.
Their pasta choices vary from light to heavy, with both oil-based and cream-based sauces available. They offer classic favorites such as pesto, carbonara and aglio olio, as well as unique flavors that cater to the more adventurous palate such as our stroganoff pasta and chorizo pasta. I love this First Date (Pesto Linguini with Tuna toppings) - because I love anything pesto. And this dish was perfect for that one melancholic night.
Yup, always saving the best for last. They served us in-house dessert choices made with love. The cinnamon drizzled churros with salted caramel and ice cream is a must-try!
For coffee lovers, they also serve Americano, Caffe Latte, Cappuccino and Espresso using Danesi coffee beans. Perfect for brunches, meetings and afternoon breaks.
Cuore is where good memories are made and where strangers –beer drinkers and wine drinkers alike - can become good friends.

Cuore Salad and Chicken - Their salads are made with fresh salad greens and other ingredients. Cuore's dressings are homemade and infused with a variety of flavors.
