At stake are cash prizes and trophies for the winners of the Christmas-themed competitions titled, “Pasko Natin: Ang Diwa Ng Pasko Sa Pilipinas”. Prizes are as follows:

“Filipinos have perhaps the happiest as well as the longest Christmas celebration in the world. If you go to other countries, no other place makes Christmas feel so festive and special.  Christmas is a time for homecoming, hope, peace, and unity throughout the country. That’s the kind of spirit that we wish to capture and render in magnificent and inspiring 3-D street paintings,” said Tess Tatco, Avida Marketing Head.

Tatco pointed out that the first 3-D painting contest held by Avida one year ago, also in the same venue, was so successful that the company is more than happy to organize a second one. “This is Avida’s way of supporting Filipino artists and Filipino culture,” she added.

Filipino artists, professionals or students, ages 18 to 35 years old, are eligible to join the competition. They must form teams of four to seven members. Each team is allowed one entry.

Participants are required to first submit a soft copy of their design proposal to Insight Publicity, Corp., Avida Land Corp.’s PR agency. The measurement of the proposed design must fit the allotted space for them on the street. All designs must conform to the contest theme, “Pasko Natin: Ang Diwa Ng Pasko Sa Pilipinas”.

Design proposals must be sent to Insight Publicity to chriscahilig@gmail.com in JPEG format only.

Submitted design proposals will be screened by a panel of judges designated by Avida. Designs chosen in the short-list will be the ones considered as official finalists, and the teams in the short-list will be the ones to render the design as a 3-D painting on the contest date.

Designs must be submitted by December 4, 2012. Finalists will be announced on December 5.   The contest proper—the actual 3-D painting activity—begins on December 6 and ends on December 8, 2012. The 3-D paintings must all be completed within this period. Winners will be announced on December 8.

Artworks in the finalists’ roster will also be posted on Facebook and the one with the most number of “Likes” wins a special prize.
