Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful With Dove

Writing this post feels a little like a beauty pageant candidate searching for the perfect words.
Why do I need to look beautiful? I ask this question in my mind a couple of times. Why do I have to look beautiful when I'm already a mother of 3?
I would leave the house trying hard not to have a care in the world if others will look better than me.
What's the point?
But in the back of my head, I thought, Is this really what motherhood turned me into the person I am today?
After I got married, I got too lazy and felt like I'm aging rapidly. I wanted to hide from everyone. I started feeling unhappy, stemming from my low self-esteem and anxiety. But a friend pointed out to me that by looking good on the outside, too, will make me happy and confident.
So, I started dressing up a bit again, applying light make-up that suits me, using the best products like Dove for my body.
I guess she's right. Feeling good on the outside makes you a happy person, which makes loving the people around you a little easier. The road to (better) motherhood.

Be your own kind of beautiful. Having low-self-esteem and my anxiety doesn’t define me. I already accepted it as a part of the real me.  It may leave scars but will definitely change me into something better. I maybe squishy around the edges but I learned to embrace it and already accepted that I am a beautifully unique human mom.

Because Dove believes that beauty should be for everyone, it's universal.
