Cheap Finds at #OnlyOneTutuban

Raising 3 kids can be quite expensive. So going to far away discount stores has always been part of our budgeting process. But it's not always like that, as I was not much of a shopper back then, unless I was shopping for an important event or for someone else. I usually just go to one place like a mall nearby where I can easily get to several stores in a short period of time.
Life changes when you become a mom.
Tutuban Center is arguably the most liked and fun to shop place for moms on tight budget.
I remember my mom would take me there and she could always find cool stuff to bring home, gifts for the employees, and whatnot. But it's been years since I last stepped inside Tutuban.
You can’t tell how many times I've planned and tried to visit this place, thankfully, I was invited to a fun day of shopping at Tutuban Center with fellow bloggers.
If you plan on saving big on school supplies this June, I suggest you should go and visit Tutuban before you spend big bucks at a mall. We were able to score some great deals on several items, you just have to be extra keen for the best deal. Scout around to see what they have to offer. Part of your strategy should include a list of stuff you're looking for before you start the shopping battle.

Tutuban Center is a project of a historical proportion and dynamic impact. It introduced a modern commercial and business environment to the country’s wholesale and retail center.
By taking the lead in introducing elements of modern facilities and management organization, Tutuban Center serves as a frontrunner in the upgrade and redevelopment of Divisoria. Tutuban Center is a pioneer and an expert in “cluster stores” operation and management.

I sought help from the ever reliable google maps prior the Tutuban journey. Got there via LRT2 from Santolan to Recto, then only 1 jeepney ride after.
Since I'm not really from Manila, it was both an inconvenience and fun for me going to Tutuban Center. In terms of safety and convenience, pretty much okay, just like shopping inside a SM mall or Robinsons. Haggling was the only problem, not my thing, but of course, there is no harm in trying to ask for a discount, right?

The event started at the Prime Block, where the latest trends in fashion, accessories, textiles, home furnishings and other goods can be found.

Each shopper blogger was provided a 1000 peso budget and should buy at least one item under each of these categories:

  • School supplies
  • Rainy Days mush have
  • OOTD items
  • Sulit buys

You may find a lot of items at Tutuban Center dirt cheap. But mostly seem to come from China or are cheap imports because some of the brand names spelled wrong. Kinda funny, though. Abibas for only 180!

But, trust me, you can really find something nice if you look hard and just enjoy the treasure hunting through the racks, until you find a great deal.

Got this bare shoulder top for only 50 pesos. I wore this last weekend during my Mindoro trip. Not bad,eh?

My other cheap finds :

Since both my daughters love anything Paris, got them both same shirts with the same Paris front design. Bought 6 white undershirts for my baby boy and a black cap, too. Got the green dress for only 200 pesos.

If you're not really brand conscious, go ahead and get this Herschel-wannabe, because this is priced for only P300.

Now that Christmas is fast approaching, it's time to look at creating a strategy for 2017 gifts shopping at #OnlyOneTutuban for a more fruitful and happy New Year :)
