New Children's Book Discovery : 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲

"More than 55,000 people in 11 out of Sudan’s 18 states are affected by flooding caused by heavy rains with 7,500 homes destroyed.."

"Wide Land Surface Temperature (not Air) range in South America, with a strong heatwave affecting Brazil and Paraguay, and low values in the South.."

"The National Weather Service has officially issued a La Niña Watch and if that forecast holds true, it will have an impact on what this winter looks like in Colorado.."

We have seen unfortunate events like these dominate our feeds recently, it feels unreal but it is really happening and you just can't help but to be terrified for your kids for these "civilization-ending" threats of climate change, as well as the pandemic.  Fact is, Mother Earth is getting bombarded by too much disaster and cosmic rays back and forth caused by the thinning of the Ozone Layer over the years (resulted from chemicals used in our own homes) and will continue to do so. The question is, what can children do?

Let kids discover how they can be a part of saving Mother Earth in 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, an informational activity book on the environment written by Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay, featuring artworks by members of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan. Geared for kids 6-12 years old, the book features child-friendly illustrations, age-appropriate language, and interactive activities that are grounded in science to encourage kids to learn about climate change and promote environmental stewardship.

We need to take a serious look at climate change because its impacts threaten our children’s lives, health, education, and right to grow in a safe environment. All hands must be on deck, every generation needs to participate.

Make it a nighttime routine by letting your kids know the difference between weather and climate and sharing nuggets of information about climate change and how they can take part in solving this crisis through 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 book, available now for P350 at www.lookingforjuan.com.

Every purchase of this book is matched by a donation to two Filipino kids in disadvantaged communities through the store’s Buy-1-Donate-2 program, in support of CANVAS’ “One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children” Campaign.

Humans have caused a dramatic impact to Mother Earth but hope is never lost and the effects can still be reversed. It may not happen overnight but we still have the future in our hands and our kid’s hands and it makes total sense to start them young in understanding what climate change is all about, as well as teach them how to respond and adapt.
