Why OPPO BAND is a necessity during the pandemic

Wearable devices have become a part of everyday life for most, excluding myself.

Although there's been a surge of popularity in the last years, I haven't had a chance to do an in-depth review on such devices. Fortunately, the possibility to explore this innovative gear is now within my reach.

OPPO, the leading global smart device brand, not only lets the users enjoy the beauty of technology, but also diversifying their product line and increasing the services available in their health apps. The launch of the OPPO Band is only the start of our wearable smart devices, which have always been a part of their IoT (internet of things) product strategy.

OPPO's priority has always been the user’s needs and convenience while using the products. Aim to impress from their high-quality setup to outstanding user experiences.

This strategic market-entry product, OPPO Watch, has been released in the recent years along with their HeyTap Health app to benefit more users with OPPO’s health services and information that are easily accessible, Hence, launching the OPPO Smart Band.

Now, everybody can get pumped and activate the health with the new OPPO Band, offering only the best with continuous SpO2 , 24-hour Heart Rate and Sleep Monitoring. Comes also with a stylish design, with a 1.1-inch Full Color Screen, and over 40 watch face designs. A very timely device, as I see it. Such device continuously takes note of the above in addition to reminding of wearing masks, practice social distancing, and frequent handwashing.

Blood oxygen saturation is an important indicator suggesting heart and lung health. With the ongoing pandemic, closely tracking this indicator is necessary for all. However, the OPPO Band is not intended for medical use, including COVID tests. The COVID diagnosis requires a series of strict and complex medical examinations, which cannot be performed by this device.

The OPPO Band can monitor the length of sleep and quality which is of equal importance. This smart feature provides us with comprehensive information and analysis that helps users to improve sleeping habits accordingly. Compared to other brands, the OPPO band can monitor the entire eight-hour sleep cycle and conduct non-stop SpO2 monitoring up to 28,800 times. The double trinity of health monitoring feedbacks and suggestions make a closed loop; while SpO2 levels, sleep quality, and heart rate make a full consolidation.

So how does it work?

The OPPO Band conducts SpO2 monitoring via collection of data in different absorption rates of oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) and deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) when they’re under red and infrared light respectively. The optical sensor obtains this data by shining light into the blood vessels of the user’s wrist and collecting the data that is reflected to the sensor.

Thanks to the built-in optical heart rate monitor, the OPPO Band can monitor the user’s heart rate around the clock. One will receive a vibrating notification if his or her heart rate goes too high informing them of potential health risk.

Research shows that visible results could promote fitness motivation. The OPPO Band is available with 12 workout modes. Each of these bring data to users and can be checked easily through their mobiles including heart rate, activity length, and calories burnt.

No worries for non-OPPO users as it is also compatible with Android devices that run on software 6.0 and above. They can quickly pair their OPPO Bands via the HeyTap Health app to receive incoming calls and messages, notifications, and control music playbacks. It can locate phones easily through the smart band.
