Philippine Seven Corporation Marks 40 Years with the Launch of Its 4,000th Store
Celebrating 40 Years of Convenience in Filipino Neighborhood
Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC) proudly marks a significant milestone with the grand opening of its 4,000th store in Newport District, Pasay City. This momentous occasion not only highlights the brand’s exceptional growth but also celebrates four decades of PSC’s commitment to providing convenience and accessibility to communities across the Philippines. As the exclusive licensee of 7-Eleven in the country, this achievement underscores the remarkable expansion and impact of the brand.
A Journey That Began in 1984
The journey of PSC began on February 29, 1984, when it opened its first 7-Eleven store at the bustling intersection of EDSA and Kamias Road in Metro Manila. This inaugural store quickly became a popular destination, attracting customers with its vibrant orange, green, and red façade. The catchphrase “Tara, 7-Eleven tayo!” soon became a familiar invitation, encouraging people to stop by for a quick snack or drink.
Commitment to Community
Today, 40 years later, PSC operates 4,000 stores nationwide, truly living up to its mission of being “the Filipinos' neighbor you can count on.” This vision, initially championed by the late Mr. Vicente T. Paterno, continues to guide the company’s efforts and innovations.
Leadership and Vision
At the forefront of this legacy is Mr. Jose Victor Paterno, President and CEO, who upholds his father’s vision. “Celebrating 40 years and opening our 4,000th store is a monumental achievement for us,” he stated. “It emphasizes our commitment to convenience and exceptional service. We are excited to continue serving our communities for many years to come.” The unwavering dedication of the Paterno family has been crucial to the brand’s growth and enduring success.
Co-founder and current Chairman of the Board, Mr. Jose T. Pardo, expressed pride in this achievement: “Reaching 4,000 stores reflects the trust and loyalty we've built with our customers over the years. This milestone also honors the hard work and dedication of our team. We are proud to remain an essential part of Filipino daily life.”
A Year-Long Celebration
In honor of this landmark occasion, PSC has launched a year-long campaign titled “Forty-gether kasama ang paborito mong kapitbahay.” This initiative celebrates the brand's journey from its first store to its expansive nationwide presence, reinforcing its role as a beloved neighborhood companion.
New Store Openings
In addition to the Newport store, PSC is thrilled to announce the opening of another store in Angeles City, Pampanga, on October 15. This new location will feature the brand's 21 To Go chicken and Café Reserve offerings, alongside enhanced facilities and dining spaces. It will also incorporate sustainable practices by utilizing solar panels, reflecting PSC's commitment to environmental responsibility.
A Trusted Neighbor for 40 Years
As 7-Eleven celebrates its 40-year legacy in the Philippines, it acknowledges the countless moments and connections forged in its many branches. From late-night snacks to everyday essentials, 7-Eleven continues to be a reliable neighbor—a trusted friend in every Filipino’s life, blending convenience with a warm sense of familiarity.
With 40 years of service and 4,000 stores across the nation, Philippine Seven Corporation remains committed to enhancing the lives of Filipinos. As it looks toward the future, PSC is excited to continue its journey of growth, innovation, and community support.
