SM Cares and CEFASGPH Celebrate World Cerebral Palsy Day with Informative Session for Families and Caregivers

8:30 PM

On October 19, SM Cares, in partnership with the Cerebral Palsy Epilepsy Family Awareness Support Group (CEFASGPH, Inc.), held an impactful event at SM Southmall in Las Piñas City to raise awareness about cerebral palsy, its challenges, and the importance of support for affected individuals and their families.

Designed for families with loved ones who have cerebral palsy, the event aimed to enhance understanding of the condition, share experiences, and provide valuable resources for caregivers. It emphasized the need for inclusion and support within the community.

Caring for individuals with cerebral palsy can be particularly challenging, as the condition affects movement, muscle coordination, and communication skills. Recognizing this, SM Cares is dedicated to supporting CEFASGPH's mission to promote awareness both within and outside the community.

Through this initiative, SM Cares reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the welfare of individuals in the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) community, including those living with cerebral palsy. This aligns with SM Cares' broader Program on PWDs, which seeks to create a barrier-free and disability-inclusive environment across all SM malls.

As the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, SM Cares champions initiatives focused on community welfare and environmental sustainability. Its advocacy programs include support for the Environment, Persons with Disabilities, Women & Breastfeeding Mothers, Children & Youth, Senior Citizens, and the SM Bike-Friendly initiative.
