Rex Education’s Edukampyon Corps Recognized by LCF for Strengthening Private Education in the Philippines
On July 1, 2025, Rex Education was honored with the CSR Medal of Recognition (Education Category) by the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF).
This award acknowledges Rex Education’s continued efforts to empower the private education sector through its volunteer-driven initiative, the Edukampyon Corps of Trainers.Launched as a response to the evolving needs of the private education system, the Edukampyon Corps initially began with 67 dedicated volunteers. The program was designed to help schools effectively implement the Department of Education’s MATATAG Curriculum. Over time, the initiative expanded to include support in quality assurance, teacher mentoring through the REX QA-SAMA Program, and the promotion of school-based professional learning communities (PLCs).
Through partnerships with the Department of Education (DepEd), the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA), the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), and respected academic institutions such as the UP College of Education and Xavier School, Rex Education was able to scale and strengthen the initiative.
The Corps has since grown to 316 trainers spread across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, delivering 17 major training sessions and producing 92 original training modules. From November to December 2024 alone, the team trained 4,711 teachers on how to effectively deliver the new curriculum. In addition, a nine-part webinar series reached nearly 100,000 educators nationwide, offering guidance, addressing curriculum-related challenges, and sharing practical teaching strategies.
“The Edukampyon Corps is a program by teachers, for teachers. It’s the perfect reflection of our core mission, para sa bata, para sa mamamayan, para sa bayan,” said Don Timothy Buhain, CEO of Rex Education.
The Edukampyon Corps includes a wide range of educators, from classroom teachers across various subjects to academic consultants, school leaders, and accreditors. This diversity enables the program to be adaptive and responsive, allowing training sessions to be contextualized based on regional and school-specific needs.
By prioritizing teacher empowerment and educational quality, Rex Education and the Edukampyon Corps of Trainers continue to play a vital role in advancing the future of private education in the Philippines.
