Robots and Autobots quickly became a favorite for my little boy after watching Transformers on the big screen, so I decided to surprise him with a DIY Transformers-themed party at home.
Finding ready-made Transformers party supplies in malls wasn’t easy, so I turned to Google for inspiration and discovered plenty of creative DIY ideas online. My son had previously gone through a Cars-themed phase and even a Ben 10 DIY party phase, so I already knew how much fun themed celebrations could be for him.
One of the highlights of the setup was an awesome DIY half-body Optimus Prime made from a simple grocery box. With a bit of silver foil, blue, black, and red cartolina or colored paper, it easily transformed into a fun and impressive centerpiece.
For the birthday tarpaulin, I simply visited a nearby printing shop. I picked a design, submitted a photo, and they handled the editing and printing for me. It only cost around 200 pesos. I hung it above the dining table to serve as a backdrop, and it instantly completed the party feel.
For the additional party decorations, I kept things simple and budget-friendly. I didn’t spend on helium balloons, instead, I just blew up red, yellow, and blue balloons and hung them all around the space for a more fun and dramatic effect.
I also cut out circles from red, blue, and yellow colored paper to use as “robot wheels,” which I added to the backdrop for an extra playful Transformers-inspired touch.

I also gathered all his favorite chocolates and candies and set up a simple candy buffet corner to make the celebration even more fun.
For the setup, I bought paper tubs from National Bookstore for around 30 pesos each, which worked perfectly for holding the sweets and completing the DIY candy station.
Since there was an issue with the Transformers license at one of the cake shops, I decided to go with a simple chocolate cake instead and just added toy cars on top for a fun and creative alternative.
Ayen placed Ayji’s toy robot here and added a cute “gifts please” sign 🙂
For the loot bags, I simply used brown paper bags and printed out Autobots logos to stick on them and that’s it, they were ready to go!
Got these toys stickers for only 10 pesos each. Neat huh? :)
So grateful for all these awesome Transformers toys he received from his aunts and uncles!
As you can see, it’s still possible to put together a fun themed party for your little one without going over the top. With a bit of imagination and resourcefulness, you can go a long way in creating something memorable.
