Jollibee and Breeze Team Up for “Maaga Ang Pasko” Laba Day: Bringing Early Christmas Joy to Kids

As Jollibee’s Maaga Ang Pasko celebrates its 20th year, the beloved fast-food chain continues to strengthen its commitment to making Christmas brighter for more children.

This year’s initiative was led by an army of hardworking blogger moms and showbiz personalities, including Tintin Bersola-Babao, Regine Tolentino, and Bettina Carlos, who all volunteered to become Jolly Toy Scouts for a day.

I was fortunate enough to be part of the clean-up drive organized by Breeze and Jollibee, recently held in Mandaluyong. The activity aimed to wash and clean more than 500,000 plush toy donations using Breeze ActiveBleach. It was truly an opportunity of a lifetime to contribute time and effort to help the less fortunate, even beyond material gifts.

But first things first, we were all given a shirt, a pair of gloves, a mask, and a bandana to complete the Toy Scout look. Aside from the outfit, we were also reminded to wear our best smiles throughout the clean-up day.

There were several stations around the warehouse where volunteers could help out.

In the “Sorting Area,” toys were carefully examined and sorted. Some were set aside because they were not age-appropriate or were already heavily damaged. Toys that promoted violence were placed directly in the reject box, along with dilapidated books, outdated encyclopedias, old textbooks, and materials containing inappropriate or adult content.

Other kinds of donations were also received, including medicines and canned goods. Their expiration dates were carefully checked to ensure they were still safe for use.

Formal clothing was also not accepted, along with Halloween costumes, torn garments, and undergarments.

The experience was a good reminder that when donating, it’s important to give items that are clean, appropriate, and truly kid-friendly, things that can bring joy and genuine use to the recipients.
