A Shared Environmental Mission for a #BrightFuture by Surf, Smart, and Cebuana Lhuillier

Media and online writers were invited to witness the partnership event of three major industry leaders renewing their commitment to champion environmental sustainability.

Surf, Smart Communications, and Cebuana Lhuillier officially launched the third year of their #SachetRecoveryProgram, an initiative that aims to educate more consumers about sustainability and proper waste recycling.

The entire process is simple, convenient, and rewarding at the same time.

This year, Smart is expanding its support for the program. Talk ‘N Text and Sun subscribers will also be able to exchange their Surf sachets for free SMS credits.

Awesome, right?

Cebuana Lhuillier, on the other hand, will add newly opened outlets to further facilitate the redemption of Surf sachets across the country.

The company already has 2,000 outlets nationwide, providing consumers with a more convenient way to participate in the Sachet Recovery Program.

In Year 1, they collected 4.5 million sachets, which were converted into 45,000 pavers.

In 2014, an additional 7.5 million empty sachets were collected nationwide.

These pavers were then donated to Barangay Union Coastal in Mayorga, Leyte, where they were used as the foundation for an environmentally friendly laundry facility called Surf Labahan.

These kids from Mandaluyong Elementary School painted some of the cement pavers that were donated to their school by the partners.

In total, 7,000 cement pavers were donated, each made from hundreds of shredded empty sachets. These were used to form pathways that help improve the school grounds and make it more convenient and safer for students to move around campus.

Kudos to Surf, Smart Communications, and Cebuana Lhuillier!

But first, let me share to you how to easily make cement pavers from surf empty sachets.

The empty Surf sachets are first placed into an Emrti grinding machine, where they are shredded into the smallest possible pieces. This process ensures that they can be properly and evenly mixed with other materials.

The shredded Surf sachets are then thoroughly mixed with sand, cement, and a small amount of water. The mixture is carefully blended to ensure the right consistency before being molded into pavers.

They will flat them perfectly inside a moulding container and wait a day or two until the pavers are completely dry.
Voila!
More Cement Pavers that will bring bright future to one billion people worldwide!

Remember!

You can get 10 free text messages for every empty Surf sachet!

Simply exchange your used Surf sachets at any Cebuana Lhuillier outlet to redeem FREE load for Smart, Sun, or Talk ‘N Text.

Please note that the redeemed free load is valid for one day only.
