Food Trip in Fisher Mall : #SANDAYA - Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant

If you're planning to start a restaurant business, it might be time to sit down and draw up a plan with the family. Especially if you're a hardcore foodie yourself.
Just like what sir Alvin Ong did. Shared their humble beginnings when we visited their newly-opened restaurant situated in Fisher Mall. Stories on how they become the best today.
His family fell in love with the food at this certain Japanese restaurant and eventually bought their menu, as well as their secret recipes. But this was all a random plan and decided to come up with their own restaurant that will bring friends together.
As you all know, the main tradition of the Chinese is to gather friends and family over a bountiful meal while sharing stories and stuff.

Sandaya is a place in Japan, sort of a public market that offers a great variety of premium quality beef. Yakiniku, on the other hand, means grilled meat. After Sandaya, they've realized they wanted to expand and decided to get the brand this time from Nagoya, Japan and bring it in the Philippines.
Located at the 3rd floor of Fisher Mall in QC, Sandaya Yakiniku's menu is populated with classic Korean and Japanese mainstays and regional specialties, crafted meticulously to give out a range of authentic dishes for Filipino diners.
Sandaya's interiors exude a cozy homely vibe with wood frame panels lining the dividers, ceilings and wooden pendant lamps suspended above the tables.
Here, the prices are kept budget-friendly but with food portion decent and sufficient to anchor a meal, leaving just enough room for dessert.
They have tables fitted with built-in table grills specially designed to eliminate smoke for an additional comfortable experience.

RICE TEA P100
For our drinks, we were served with unlimited FREE Rice Tea refills to our heart's content. Rice Tea or Genmaicha is the Japanese name for green tea combined with roasted brown rice. One blogger mentioned about the similar taste to that of a pinipig (immature grains of glutinous rice pounded until flat before being toasted) but the taste buds revealed otherwise.
Need to consider the health benefits of brown rice tea that include vitamins B, fiber and iron, so the next time would be tolerable.

KANI SALAD P250
Of course, this is not the actual size of the bowl for this appetizer. I love anything with crab sticks and mango and mayo. The perfect choice before serving mains.

JAPANESE STYLE BEEF STEW P120
Ah, this flavorful beef broth with generous slices of premium beef is my top choice. As I taste the golden liquid food, it somehow reminded me of a popular Ilocano dish "Papaitan", minus the pungent after taste. The simplicity of taste of this hearty broth delighted my weakened heart.

SPICY TUNA MAKI
For spicy lovers, Spicy Tuna Maki is a victor. Each mouthful of this storms with a domineering heat that lingers tastefully. You'll be asking for more of its intensity.

YAKINIKU PREMIUM PLATE P3800 for 900g ( goof for 4-5 persons)
This is a meat platter comprised of lettuce, kimchi, crispy cabbage, Nira, Fresh sprouts salad.
The meat choices are US Boneless Short Ribs, Hangi Tendered, Chap tendered, Wagyu or Japanese-style sirloin. The Wagyu is hand-carried all the way from Japan.
I love Wagyu because the taste is extremely similar to Foie gras but Wagyu is a lot firmer, of course. The pairing of the beef with Yakiniku sauce mixed with chili sauce will make your taste buds celebrate. An explosion of conflict -- sweet into sour, so intertwined.

SHRIMP TEMPURA P350
Deep fried breaded shrimps supposedly with weak texture turned out to be a domination of toughness, I could barely cut it with a spoon. Still flavorful, nonetheless.

MILK KINTOKI P150
After a series of misses and hits, dessert is always an endearing finale.
Since I have a thing for crushed ice desserts, I indulged in this frozen treat without any hesitation.
The Milk Kintoki is the creamy Japanese version of our Halo-Halo, comprised of red beans, yellow beans, milk and cherries :)
