7-Eleven Philippines Celebrates 2000th Store

11:05 PM
The year 2017 marks a significant milestone for Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), country licensee of leading convenience store chain, 7-Eleven, as they celebrate the Opening of their 2,000th store in the Philippines.
Welcomed by marching band and a cheerleading performance, the 2000th store opening was graced by 7-Eleven International and 7-Eleven Taiwan heads. The concept store features a whole new level of modern convenience.

Wow!

For a mom like me? 7-Eleven is THE place of convenience.
The stores are basically on every corner of every city in the country. Perfect locations, if I may add.
If you crave something in the middle of the night or you somehow need 6 liters of distilled water or pick up emergency supplies in less than five minutes, 7-Eleven is there to always save the day.

They started out small in Dallas Texas about 90 years ago back in 1927, but managed to be named as one of the biggest global operator franchise, largest convenience store in the world, with over 61,550 stores.
According to Ana Williams, the senior Vice President and head of 7-Eleven International, It's really difficult to keep count because a new branch of 7-Eleven would open somewhere in the world every 3 hours.

In the Philippines, believe it or not, they've managed to open up a new branch every 4 hours, now only 3.
They operated in 80 countries across the globe, serving about 55 million customers every single day. You do the math. If you think about it, they've probably opened up 3 to 4 branches already after the event program.
Even though they are global, they work to match each door of a local neighborhood, living up to their words -"Giving the customers what they want, when they want it, and where they want it"
And Philippine Seven has done just that for the brand.

Despite being a not-so-good year back in 1984, the business here in the Philippines has become phenomenal after entering the market. A thousand stores in 3 years is really quite incredible, according to Jose Victor Paterno, president and CEO of the Philippine Seven Corporation.

The 2 stores opened back in that year were the Kamias branch and BF branch. They were known as the "air-conditioned sari-sari store" selling slurpees, hotdogs, and siopao but they've expanded their food service offerings over the years, already with gourmet Filipino meals on the menu.
Also they've entered the digital front. They have now loyalty program, CLiQQ Rewards, its accompanying mobile app, and a platform on Facebook Messenger.
To cater to more people, PSC has been rolling out its in-store wifi service, CLiQQ Wifi, to all of its stores. PSC has also started developing its e-commerce initiatives to take advantage of the emerging digital retail market.

The latest addition to the growing list of 7-Eleven stores opened its doors at the LV Locsin Building, 6752 Makati Avenue, Legazpi Village, Makati.
Several years back, they thought of focusing on the islands first, thinking about the people who needed their service. But now they are coming back in the fastest growing area.
This year, PSC aims to open 412 more stores. With their continued growth, PSC will continue to innovate with their products and services.
Expect more stores in Laoag and as far as Sorsogon. The region two will be excluded for now as the delivering challenges are quite difficult.

Part the opening of their 2000th store, they've introduced the adorable Chibi superhero pouches that promises to be an indispensable accessory for their most loyal customers.
The cute pouches feature the Chibi versions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, aid the Justice League which can be availed using e-stamps that can be accumulated through purchases done within 7-Eleven and can be claimed until April 25. Redeem a pouch for FREE by collecting 10 Chibi E-Stamps! These Chibi E-stamps also entitle you to e-raffle entries for a chance to win awesome prizes. Be sure to use your CLiQQ app.

Also, the celebration would not be complete without the roster of bands and artists that rocked the stage at Bonifacio High Street Amphitheatre. There were live performances from The Ransom Collective, Imago, Gracenote, Moonstar88, and Bamboo Music Live!
7-Eleven rockistas didn't miss this night of rock as they all joined the party for FREE just by showing their Rewards Card or CLiQQ App.
