Taiwan Excellence officially kicked off LOHAS Days, a three-day celebration of wellness and sustainability on September 12 at Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig City. The event aims to inspire Filipinos to embrace a Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) through innovation, fitness, and eco-conscious living.
The grand launch was graced by none other than Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray, who was introduced as the official Taiwan LOHAS Advocate. Her presence drew an excited crowd and reinforced the movement’s empowering message: that wellness and sustainability can go hand-in-hand in our daily lives.
A Powerful Launch for a Purposeful Cause
The event opened with a high-energy cheer dance performance set to the anthem of Taiwan’s professional baseball league, symbolizing the vibrant and passionate spirit of Taiwan’s wellness movement now arriving in the Philippines.
In her welcome speech, Ms. Josephine Shun, Director of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, highlighted Taiwan’s global reputation in the wellness and fitness industries:
“Taiwan is serious about health. Our government is promoting a big vision called Healthy Taiwan. Known as the Bicycle Kingdom and one of the top three fitness equipment exporters in the world, Taiwan continues to lead in wellness innovation.”
Mr. Alex Lai, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center Manila, further emphasized the country’s commitment to innovation through the Taiwan Excellence Awards, which honor groundbreaking products that promote healthier lifestyles:
