I Hate ASTHMA!

11:04 PM
Wheezing, dry coughing and difficulty in breathing are the signs for me when Ayen is already having an asthma attack.

Ayen's been suffering from asthma for as long as I can remember. We've been to different kinds of specialists and Pulmo and sad to say, she still got it.
They say it will never go away. You just have to be careful and strict when it comes to children with asthma.
So, how can we prevent them from having an attack?

Triggers and irritants vary for each individual. common triggers and irritants:
  • Air pollution
  • Dust
  • Mold
  • Pollen
  • Tobacco smoke
  • Pet dander
  • Exercise
  • Changes in temperature
  • Certain foods
  • Sulfite (food preservative in red wine, beer, salad bars, dehydrated soups, and other foods)
  • Aspirin, or ibuprofen (brand names: Advil, Motrin, Nuprin)
  • Heartburn
  • Sinus infections
  • Strong emotions (such as crying or laughing)
  • Perfume
  • Spray-on deodorants
  • Viruses
and a lot more!

That is why I make sure I clean the house every single day. And we don't have any house pets and flower pots around the house.

My fridge is packed with anti-histamines, steroids, paracetamol, ventolin nebules, just to be prepared. I can now put up my own drugstore because of this.
But I don't really like giving Ayen medicines, honestly. It'll just affect her health a lot more.Thank God for Nebules and my forever partner THE NEBULIZER!

As long as I have them, Ayen will forever be okay. I make sure also to check on her diet and make her drink tea once in a while.
Natural is still the best. I seldom give her chicken on her meal and anything that is oily.
Apples are her favorite!

As for Ayen's skin asthma, I used to treat it with Physiogel Cream and even bought the whole set of the Physiogel products

But it's quite expensive and Ayen's not really hiyang to Physiogel.
My mom used to make(still making) malunggay lotion thingy but Ayen despised the smell.
So here comes CETAPHIL!

I let her try Cetaphil lotion and it really helped her skin to become smoother. I'm using it, too!

Cetaphil cleanser is quite expensive also but a lot cheaper than Physiogel.
I told my sister to buy Cetaphil bar instead.

This non-soap cleansing bar is hypoallergenic, fragrance free, detergent free, and non-comedogenic. Can be used on the face and the body. Quite gentle for Ayen's Skin-Asthma! I even used it as a shampoo for her! Makes her hair softer, without bull.

Ayen just turned 6 last March and my sister noticed her skin is a lot better now.
Hopefully, it will stay that way forever.
