Jack ’n Jill Champalok and Mintini Review: My Honest Verdict on the New Candies

10:37 PM
During my hospital duty days somewhere in Quezon City, we usually worked almost the whole day, that’s 24 hours nonstop. I could barely keep my eyes open, and my hand would always reach into my pocket to find something to munch on without me even realizing it.

No, it’s not an eating disorder, just to clear that out. Although one should really focus on eating proper meals most of the time, snacking on goodies like candies and crackers can give you that immediate energy boost you need for work. Well, at least it worked for me back then. I remember it was usually mint candies and crackers.

That “mindless eating” habit has never really left me for some reason, and now the constant search for the perfect snack buddy is still ongoing.

Thankfully, last weekend, huge boxes of snacking goodness were delivered right to our doorstep, all from the generous people behind Jack ’n Jill. Ta-dah!!

Nope, sorry, I didn’t include the two other huge boxes in the photo because I already hid them from my bully brothers. Haha!

Kidding aside, some of the Mintinis and Champaloks have already been distributed to friends and co-workers, and I’ve asked them what they think about the new products. As expected, they all loved both Champaloks and Mintinis!

I also let my kids be food critics for a day. Now that they’re much bigger kids, introducing them to new snacks isn’t a problem anymore, and it has now become part of my priority list. I believe it can lead to a lifetime of more adventurous eating, so I let them try both products as well.

Jack ’n Jill’s Mintini, with its refreshing sweet minty taste, became an instant hit for my kids. Thankfully, it doesn’t have an overpowering mint flavor. No complaints there!

I told them they could eat as many as they wanted, but I had to stop them from overeating the soft, chewy candies, just to save their pearly whites (and maybe have more goodies for myself, evil laugh).

I also brought some Mintinis to school since they’re perfect for a minty breather in the middle of busy school days.

The verdict: 5 stars (and I’m actually eating one right now, lol!).

Remember those tamarind candies in yellow plastic wrappers from the sari-sari store back in the ’80s? I guarantee you’ll go gaga over the new Champaloc tamarind-flavored gummy candy, packed with that same classic tamarind flavor we all know and love, minus the seed!

Packed in a 20g snack pack, this affordable treat can be enjoyed anytime of the day for only ₱5 SRP.

My kids love gummy candies, so this was also an instant hit for them, making it the perfect on-the-go snack!

I kid you not, Champalok will make snacking even more fun. So take snacking to a whole new level with a pack of Champalok’s asim-kilig goodness right away!

My verdict: 5 stars as well!
