Tesla Philippines Unveils the Country's First Supercharger Station
Tesla Philippines has officially launched its first Supercharging station at Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City, marking a significant milestone in the country's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.
The station features four Superchargers and is a key part of Tesla's ongoing efforts to expand its charging network across the Philippines. With a peak charging efficiency of 250kW, Tesla's Superchargers can charge a vehicle up to 120km in just 5 minutes, providing enough range for three round trips between the Tesla Experience Centre at Uptown Parade and Quezon City. Supercharging services will be available on a pay-per-use basis, priced at PHP 19 per kWh. For example, fully charging a Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive (with a range of up to 513km, WLTP) will cost approximately PHP 1,140. This reinforces Tesla's commitment to offering an efficient and convenient charging solution for long-distance travel across the region.
Tesla's charging stations are designed to deliver a seamless experience. Users can easily connect to the Supercharger, thanks to the automated charger detection system, which flips open the charging port cover. The Tesla mobile app also allows owners to check charger availability, monitor charging status, and receive notifications when their vehicle is ready. Payments are automatically processed through the Tesla app, making the entire charging process hassle-free.
“Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. By expanding our charging network, we aim to create a seamless EV experience in the Philippines and collaborate closely with partners in the future,” said Isabel Fan, Regional Director of Tesla.
The launch event was attended by key officials, including Undersecretary Sharon Garin, Undersecretary Felix William "Wimpy" Fuentebella, Assistant Secretary Ronald Conquilla, and Director Patrick Aquino from the Department of Energy (DOE), as well as Fort Bonifacio Barangay Chairman Jorge Bocobo, and Megaworld Vice President Rene Arnobit.
Tesla’s Model 3 (starting at PHP 2,136,000, inclusive of VAT) and Model Y (starting at PHP 2,396,000, inclusive of VAT) are now available for viewing and ordering in the Philippines.
