Exciting Filmmakers and New Talents to Shine at the 2025 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival

After the incredible success of last year’s Puregold CinePanalo, we’re excited to witness even more outstanding films at the 2025 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival.

Indeed, last year’s festival was a true “panalo,” showcasing remarkable talent, captivating stories, and the vibrant future of Filipino cinema. Building on that momentum, the 2025 edition promises to be another unforgettable experience for film lovers.


At a press conference held at the Artson Events Place in Quezon City, the filmmakers who will participate in this year’s festival were officially introduced. Puregold CinePanalo is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events on the Philippine film industry calendar, with millions in production grants up for grabs, making it an attractive platform for both seasoned and emerging filmmakers.


Empowering Aspiring Filmmakers

In the 2025 edition of Puregold CinePanalo, eight winning filmmakers will receive P3,000,000 each, and twenty-four student filmmakers will also benefit from production grants of P150,000 each. With such a generous pool of funds, filmmakers are encouraged to craft powerful and uplifting stories around this year’s theme: “Mga Kwentong Panalo ng Buhay” (Winning Stories of Life).

The festival aims to inspire new and aspiring filmmakers to bring forth their creativity and tell stories that resonate with the Filipino audience.


At the press conference, representatives from MTRCB, Gateway Cineplex 18, Mowelfund, Terminal Six, CMB Films, and MFP Rentals joined to celebrate the upcoming edition. Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, senior marketing manager for Puregold, expressed her excitement, saying, “After an intensely competitive application period, these directors emerged on top. We’re confident that they will create gripping, high-quality films for the festival.”

A Star-Studded Lineup of Talented Filmmakers and Actors

The 2025 Puregold CinePanalo will feature an impressive lineup of filmmakers, including both seasoned directors and emerging talent. Some standout films and their directors include:

Mes de Guzman’s “Sepak Takraw”, starring Enzo Osorio, Nicollo Castillo, Ruby Ruiz, and Acey Aguilar.

JP Habac’s “Olsen’s Day”, featuring Khalil Ramos, Romnick Sarmenta, and child actor Xander Nuda.

Tara Illenberger’s “Tigkiliwi”, starring Ruby Ruiz, Gabby Padilla, and Julian Paul Larroder.

Christian Paolo Lat & Dominic Lat’s “Journeyman”, starring JC Santos and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

TM Malones’ “Salum”, starring Allen Dizon and Christine Mary Dimaisip.

Jill Singson Urdaneta’s “Co-Love”, featuring KD Estrada, Alexa Ilacad, Jameson Blake, and Kira Balinger.

Baby Ruth Villarama’s “Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea”, the festival’s first-ever documentary.

Catsi Catalan’s “Fleeting”, marking her directorial debut with Janella Salvador and RK Bagatsing.

In addition to these established filmmakers, twenty-four student filmmakers will also showcase their talent at Puregold CinePanalo 2025. These young creators bring fresh perspectives and bold ideas to the table, with films such as:
