Inside My Century Tuna SuperCooks Experience

During my early years, watching cooking demos on TV and seeing my mom prepare meals were part of my morning routine.

We didn’t have gadgets or high-tech devices back then to keep us occupied, so basically, the TV and the kitchen were my only forms of entertainment and comfort.

There’s nothing like the sound of oil splattering on pans and the lingering smell of my mom’s cooking filling the house. That always made my heart happy.

My mother often said that when it comes to instilling values in us siblings and teaching essential life skills, cooking ranks among the most important lessons for our future family and that’s 100% true.

She always let us roam freely in the kitchen, hoping that by watching her cook every day, some of her passion for cooking would eventually sink in. She wanted us to realize that living the good life essentially revolves around cooking and sharing meals with the people we love. Nothing more. :)

Unfortunately for me, I didn’t inherit my mom’s “MasterChef” skills and genes only the eating part, lol! But I do know how to cook, especially since I needed to learn for my three youngsters.

Thanks to recipe books and online cooking demos, they’ve made my life so much easier as a mom!

When I got a text from a blogger friend inviting me to a one-day cooking workshop, I didn’t hesitate. I still remember my dad taking us to the YMCA and enrolling us in a summer cooking school with my older sister. I think I was in Grade 5 then it was pure joy.

Anyway, I got excited when I arrived at the venue and saw the demo kitchen, cooking equipment, and of course, Century Tuna products (now with easy-open cans!). I felt like a kitchen superstar and all!

We were divided into three groups, and my teammates were Ms. Earth Rullan and Tin Gonzaga, with Chef Donna guiding our cooking journey. Yes, we’re all smiles here probably because we were already hungry, haha!

Vita Coco was also there to support and hydrate us naturally and we were lucky enough to take home some of their products!
How cool is that?

This view almost made me cry. I wanted to have the exact kitchen top and cupboard for my kitchen stuff. The island was perfect.

We decided to get the corner spot here so we can use freely the island and the whole kitchen around it.

Say Century! My gorgeous team mate, Ms Earth :)
Yes, her name is really Earth. Forgot to ask where her parents got it.

The first dish we made was the Century Tuna Macaroni Salad because it was the easiest to make. Plus, we needed to chill them ahead. Made with Century Corned Tuna.

The Vienna Sausage corn dogs were also a hit especially if you'll make them for your kids. I'll share the recipes next time.

This Baked Ziti was superb because of the three cheeses and of course our secret ingredient, Century Tuna :)

Artsy plating does really make the food twice as yummy! Credits to Chef Donna :)

The bangus ala madrilena was delicioso as well.

The Century Tuna management and staff also gathered to witness the event and of course, to get a taste of the final products as well :)

Yes, it was indeed a memorable and exciting experience for all of us.
