In a major response to Typhoon Kristine's devastating impact, the BingoPlus Foundation, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive, has distributed ₱37 million in financial aid to families affected by the storm.

The relief effort is one of the largest to date, providing ₱250,000 each to 148 families who lost loved ones across the country. The initiative began with a turnover ceremony in Batangas on November 10, 2024, and will continue to support other affected regions in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos, DSWD Undersecretary Pinky Romualdez, and DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco, along with local government officials and community leaders, were present to personally hand over the financial aid. The event emphasized the Foundation’s mission to deliver meaningful support in times of crisis and to bring hope to Filipinos recovering from the disaster.

Typhoon Kristine, one of the most destructive storms of the year, caused severe flooding and landslides, particularly in Batangas, which was declared a state of calamity. The BingoPlus Foundation's relief efforts are focused on assisting the province, especially the town of Talisay, which was heavily impacted.

“This initiative is not just about providing financial aid; it's about creating hope and resilience for those who need it most,” said Eusebio Tanco, Chairman of DigiPlus Interactive. “Through the BingoPlus Foundation, we are committed to multiplying the good and making a real difference in the lives of those affected by Typhoon Kristine.”

In addition to financial assistance, the Foundation has also distributed rice to 750 families and mobilized volunteers for repacking and distribution efforts in partnership with DSWD. Through its collaboration with ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya, the Foundation has extended support to 1,000 families in Isabela, Aurora, Pangasinan, and Quezon.

Since its establishment, BingoPlus Foundation has allocated over ₱100 million to support healthcare, livelihood, and education programs across the country. Through its PLUS Centers in Negros, Cebu, and General Santos, the Foundation continues to empower communities by providing resources such as health services, livelihood support, and skills training.

“This relief effort is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to community development and resilience,” Tanco concluded. “We stand by our communities, not just in moments of disaster, but in their journey to rebuild and thrive.”
