Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) made a significant impact at the Eat Well, Live Well 2024 Youth Summit held at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel in Cebu City.

Building on the success of last year’s event, this year’s summit attracted over 150 young Filipinos, educators, and advocates for a day dedicated to health, wellness, nutrition, and sustainable living.

Empowering the Next Generation for a Healthier, Sustainable Future

The 2024 Youth Summit is a key part of APC’s ongoing mission to empower the youth with the knowledge and tools to create positive change in their communities and the environment. The event featured engaging talks, interactive sessions, and collaborative activities aimed at fostering a culture of health and sustainability among Generation Z participants.

A Vision for a Healthier Philippines

APC Group President Koichi Ozaki shared Ajinomoto’s vision for a healthier, more sustainable Philippines, emphasizing the company’s mission to contribute to food and wellness for better lives. “Ajinomoto is here to make your eating experience happy, healthy, and satisfying,” said Ozaki, inspiring the youth to take an active role in promoting a sustainable future.

Insightful Discussions on Sustainable Nutrition and Wellness

The summit included expert-led panel discussions with key representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Ms. Cheryl de la Victoria of DA and Ms. Maria Victoria V. Abrera of DENR shared valuable insights on topics such as sustainable nutrition, waste reduction, and wellness practices, encouraging the youth to take small daily actions for a healthier environment.

Interactive Activities for Real-World Impact

The summit featured hands-on activities, including a Youth-Led Output Activity where participants brainstormed actionable solutions for sustainability challenges. Groups presented creative ideas on topics like reducing food waste and promoting plant-based diets, in alignment with Ajinomoto’s “Eat Well, Live Well” philosophy, which emphasizes healthy, eco-conscious eating habits.

Another highlight was the breakout room sessions, where students learned about the science behind MSG and witnessed how vegetables can be transformed into delicious, zero-waste dishes. Participants also had the opportunity to taste the innovative dishes they created, reinforcing the importance of healthy, sustainable eating.

Commitment to Long-Term Health and Sustainability

A ceremonial pledge closed the event, with all participants committing to implement the lessons learned and advocate for healthier, more sustainable lifestyles within their communities.

Ajinomoto’s Eat Well, Live Well 2024 Youth Summit reflects the company’s global commitment to extending healthy life expectancy and reducing environmental impact by 50% by 2030. Through initiatives like this, APC continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to take charge of their health and the planet’s future.

In support of their advocacy, APC is also bringing the Aji-Ginisa® I Love Veggie-licious School Caravan to Lahug Elementary School in Cebu, further encouraging Filipino children to embrace nutritious eating and sustainable living.

Ajinomoto Philippines is leading the way in empowering young Filipinos to be champions of health and sustainability for a brighter, greener future.
