G'Day Queensland! Qantas Launches New Flight Route to Brisbane
Nonstop Flights from Manila to Brisbane – More Options for Filipinos Traveling to Australia and New Zealand
Qantas, Australia’s national carrier, is expanding its services between the Philippines and Australia with new nonstop flights to Brisbane, Queensland. Starting now, Filipinos can take advantage of four weekly flights aboard the Airbus A330, offering 100,000 additional seats annually on the route. This new service complements Qantas' daily flights to Sydney, further strengthening its commitment to connecting the Philippines to Australia and beyond.
Qantas Expands Philippine-Australia Connectivity
Since its arrival in the Philippines in 1947, Qantas has played a significant role in connecting the two countries. Initially serving military operations with Lancastrian aircraft, the airline launched passenger services in 1950 and has grown its presence over the decades. Qantas began its first jet flights from Manila to Sydney in 1961, eliminating the need for layovers and setting the stage for future direct services.
Today, Qantas flies over 300,000 seats annually between the Philippines and Australia and is set to celebrate 75 years of passenger services between the two countries in 2025.
Brisbane: Your Gateway to Queensland and Beyond
The new nonstop service to Brisbane offers Filipino travelers more flexibility, making it easier to explore the beauty of Queensland. The city is known for its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and vast country plains, as well as its warm hospitality. Plus, the new route opens up more travel options to New Zealand, with convenient connections to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Queenstown via Brisbane.
Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace comments, “The Philippines is a very strong market for Qantas, and we are pleased to respond to demand with the addition of direct flights to Brisbane. We know many customers already travel to Brisbane via Sydney, so this new flight will provide a faster, more convenient option for Filipinos.”
