A visit to the Nest Modern Table and Bar in BGC

12:25 AM

One of my guilty pleasures is to constantly look for hidden gems that will deliver a real lasting food remembrance.
I believe that after a long tiring day at work, eating is a quick fix and can become an essential part of your de-stressing program.
May it be healthy or not, that alone can relax the mind i assure you
( well, it worked for me ).
2 weeks ago, I received an email for a food and restaurant exploration and in an instant, I ventured out to see what this newest restaurant had to say.
Bonifacio Global City truly has so much to offer in terms of night life and art but it also has a fantastic offering of drink and food.

The City is already jamming with a wide variety of new bars and restaurants and one of them is the newly hatched Nest Modern Table and Bar , that is sitting attop the premier location of the W Fifth Avenue Building in between 5th and 32nd street.
Fortunately , I went there early because I know that locating a good parking space can be a nightmare especially after working hours.

The entrance of the restaurant, is guarded by black grills , like entering a secret veranda, making it look super exclusive and the look of a fine dining restaurant with a twist.
This upscale roof-deck dining hideaway is the newest addition in the city that offers a banquet for the senses with it's euphoric blend of Asian flavors and Western-style cooking fares,
revitalizing al fresco vibe, and arresting view of the city skyline.
In cold days like this, guests can toast the city while enjoying views underneath the stars from within the fully enclosed glass-walled space.

Nest brings the garden element in it's interior.
It sports fancy patio furniture in earth tones, and fancy table decors that give it a refreshing but sophisticated look.
I got started by ordering their house-blend iced tea to set up my appetite for an epicurean feast like no other.
I was provided at first with their signature cocktail menu but my insides cannot handle just yet the highly potent alcoholic cocktails and the full booted kick of the drinks.
The guests had the opportunity to sample their bestseller cocktails made by Beverage specialist Lee Watson.
These cocktails were creatively done. And when you're into those kinds of drinks, I tell you, you won't be sorry.

They served Green Mojito (414) which originally has mint leaves, lime juice , soda water and ice but I'm uncertain about the specific alcohol though.
This one is called Sexy and I know it (331). For the ladies i think.
This particular concoction is called Smokin' (414 ) and you'll know why.
Mixed with Laphroaig Single Malt Scotch, coconut syrup, honey and lime topped with flaming anise.
This is called the Spider's Web (331)
Dewar's White Scotch is fused with Cachaca Brazilian rum, passion fruit syrup, lemon plus ice.
The tropical-looking drink is called the Blue Moon (331)
Maker's Mark Bourbon is combined with black currant, lemon, and Angostura garnished with a blue petals and ice
While waiting for the introduction of food, we indulged and got swept away by the melody and harmony of the songs of this pretty acoustic singer-songwriter ( Forgive me, I wasn't able to get your name ).
"Prep with care , cook with love and serve with pride".

These are the words that Chef Benjo Tuason lives by in the kitchen.
He is known to produce uncommon flavor combinations that are delectable and pleasing to even the most discerning of palates.

Moving onto the food,  it is quite a short menu, with only 2 starters and 2 mains to choose from, it is quite satisfying though.

For starters, we had Naan Bread with salt and butter .
These breads were still warm when it was being served so the texture was soft.
The Chunky butternut Squash and chicken soup ( 150 pesos) on the other hand is the thick, chunky ,warm and wholesome bowl of goodness that would keep you asking for more.
Health buffs would love this as it gives your body extra beta-carotene, vitamin C, and fiber.
I loved the Foie Gras and Mushrooms! (550)
The perfectly done poached egg is topped with my favorite croutons, Parmesan , mushrooms and the balsamic gave an added depth to the masterpiece.
And for the mains, we had the Pan Seared Snapper (470) that is beautifully served with Prawn and Salmon Roe Risotto.
This one undoubtedly is my favorite.
Chef's 5 Spiced Roast Pork Belly which is shockingly priced at 250!
They served Kurobuta Pork Belly which  is regarded as the best quality pork in the world.
It is from Japan.
Paired well with the flavorful Soy and Garlic Noodle that made love with my taste buds, sided with the refreshing Sesame Cucumber Relish.
And for the dessert..
This, my friend, is the Chef's Reese's Sans Rival. (200)
With every bite of this cake made me think of my dad and my childhood.
The strong creamy taste of the Peanut Butter Cream and Chocolate Ganache made the taste more unique in a special kind of way.
My kids will definitely love these sugar-coated Donuts(200)
with Peanut Butter Cream, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Jam dips on the side.
The Nest Modern table and Bar indeed gave us a great food memory, one which i highly recommend to others, along with their top service, very very reasonable prices in a stylish restaurant-bar.

The Nest Modern table and Bar is something new to try and a great addition to the BGC restaurant scene.

Happy Hour starts from 5pm to 9pm, wherein all signature cocktails are up for Buy 1 Take 1 grabs, and 3 beers on Tap warrant one more-on-the-house.

Off the record Wednesdays treat diners to live acoustic music.
Paradiso Fridays will be marked with chill, house music and spinners.
Saturdays will be grooving to a night of RnB music.

Nest will be launching more themed nights in the coming days.

  1. Great blog. My friends and I are looking for a new place hang-out outside Makati and Fort Bonifacio is in our list. As I browsing on the blog, I really like the ambiance of the place and the bar furniture as well. The food is so tempting that I wanted to call my friends to set our date as soon as possible. Yay! I'm glad to visit your site. :)
