A Legacy of Faith Culture and Service Takes Shape at Museo P. Lhuillier in Antipolo
Antipolo City welcomes a new cultural and spiritual landmark as Museo P. Lhuillier officially opens its doors to the public.
Nestled in the heart of the city, the museum offers a thoughtfully curated space where art, devotion, and heritage come together, reflecting a lifetime of service by Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier.Museo P. Lhuillier houses a remarkable collection of religious artifacts, European antiques, and culturally significant memorabilia gathered over decades of diplomatic work. Each piece tells a story shaped by the Ambassador’s global journey and deep commitment to preserving heritage not just as history, but as something meant to be shared.
Founded on the belief that culture gains meaning through accessibility, the museum was designed as a gift to the Filipino people. It invites visitors into a serene and reflective setting that encourages learning and appreciation for traditions that have influenced both the Ambassador’s life and the broader Filipino cultural narrative. With education and inclusivity at its core, the museum further strengthens Antipolo’s growing reputation as a destination for art, faith, and heritage.
“Many of these pieces have been carefully kept for years,” Ambassador Lhuillier shared during the opening. “It has long been my hope to make them accessible to the Filipino public. I envision Museo P. Lhuillier as a place of reflection where people can connect with stories of faith, heritage, and global tradition.”
This vision is deeply rooted in the Ambassador’s 17 year journey of service. Before entering diplomatic life, he helped expand access to micro financial services through Cebuana Lhuillier, empowering everyday Filipinos. That commitment to upliftment evolved into broader philanthropic, cultural, and community initiatives that continue to make an impact today.
“Throughout his diplomatic career in Italy, Albania, San Marino, Portugal, and now Spain, my dad has consistently championed the welfare of overseas Filipinos while strengthening international relationships,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Seeing his life’s work reflected in this museum is incredibly meaningful for our family.”
Camille Lhuillier Albani, General Manager of Casa de Memoria, echoed this sentiment. “Growing up, we saw how much these pieces meant to him. Sharing them with the public feels deeply special. This museum reflects his love for art and history, and his wish to offer Filipinos a space for quiet reflection and connection.”
The museum’s galleries seamlessly weave Philippine heritage with global influences. Many of the collections were acquired during the Ambassador’s diplomatic assignments, forming a narrative that bridges cultures while remaining firmly rooted in Filipino identity.
Key spaces include the Kapilya de Santa Rosa de Lima, a peaceful sanctuary for prayer and contemplation, and the APJL Hall, which highlights milestones from the Ambassador’s diplomatic career. A rotating pop up gallery will feature seasonal exhibitions, collaborations, and cultural programs aimed at fostering dialogue and community engagement.
Every element of Museo P. Lhuillier was curated with care, from sacred artworks to historical furnishings. The atmosphere emphasizes reverence, stewardship, and meaningful connection, inviting visitors to reflect on the richness of shared heritage.
As it opens to the public, Museo P. Lhuillier positions itself as a place where Philippine heritage meets global perspectives. Through its exhibitions and programs, the museum seeks to connect past and present, deepen cultural appreciation, and further establish Antipolo as a vital cultural hub.
