A Symphony of Giving 2025 Brings Music, Hope, and Community to Center Stage
J Foundation filled the Grand Hyatt Taguig with warmth and purpose during its annual advocacy concert, A Symphony of Giving 2025.
The event united children, families, partners, and supporters in a heartfelt celebration built on one powerful theme: kindness. This year’s gathering highlighted how even the smallest act of generosity can brighten a child’s world and spark lasting change.Founded in 2017 by a group of Japanese expatriates in a small Hanoi hospital, J Foundation has grown into a major philanthropic organization supported by more than 600 Japanese donors. Guided by its core pillars, healthcare, education, and social development, the foundation continues to empower children and communities across Asia through sustainable, community-centered programs.
Filipino and Japanese educators, health advocates, artists, and performers form the backbone of the foundation’s donor network. Their contributions fuel projects that deliver medical equipment and hospital supplies for pediatric patients, as well as learning materials that support young learners in partner communities.
This year’s concert amplified the message behind A Symphony of Giving: compassion can connect people from all backgrounds and inspire collective action for a shared purpose. Whether supporting young cancer warriors, promoting inclusive education, or caring for the planet, each initiative showcased the foundation’s commitment to uplifting lives.
“Through this concert, we hope to bring these children and their families joy and to remind communities of how generosity can inspire meaningful action,” said Takahiro Fushimi, Executive Director of J Foundation.
The foundation works closely with local and international partners to sustain long-term impact. Its Philippine collaborations include the Philippine General Hospital – Department of Pediatrics, Silahis ng Kalusugan, CHILD Foundation Inc., the Schools Division Office – Manila, and the Inclusive Learning Resource Center at P. Gomez Elementary School, among others.
The evening drew notable guests, including acclaimed singer Morissette Amon, Miss Grand Philippines International 2024 CJ Opiaza, and performers from the Taiko Drummers, Daloy Dance Company, and the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir.
“We want this concert to be more than a celebration; we hope it encourages everyone to reflect on the part they can play in uplifting these kids, and to inspire the children to dream boldly,” Mr. Fushimi added.
This year’s lineup of initiatives highlighted the foundation’s creative and compassionate approach. The Philos Green Games tabletop game, donated by Mr. Eiji Murata, encouraged children to think about caring for the environment. Through the Crowning Courage project, world-champion stylist Masaaki Kurosawa gifted handcrafted wigs to young cancer patients. Dr. Masato Yokosuka’s generosity provided essential hygiene kits, ensuring children had resources for their daily well-being.
These efforts underscored how imagination, compassion, and community can come together to nurture hope. Beyond the concert, J Foundation continues to strengthen its outreach programs in the Philippines, expanding partnerships and finding new ways to reach underserved children and communities.
“By bringing together donors, volunteers, communities, and artists, we hope to show that giving even in its simplest form, can create ripples of compassion long after the event,” Mr. Fushimi concluded.
Alongside this year’s donation of Wikahon activity books to Silahis ng Kaunlaran, J Foundation has been supporting indigent students since 2018. Contributions have included daily lunch meals, prepaid internet for online classes, hygiene kits, grocery packages, computer sets, and essential school supplies, ongoing efforts that continue to make a meaningful difference in young lives.
